Who all in 6A will be most surprising throughout the season from 130 to 145?
Here are some names not on the new rankings that should do well. David Tindell, Jacob Weller, Cody Smith, Nick Clayton, Chris Hultine, Joe sullivan. In my opinion any way. But we will see starting in December. Anybody have any names to ad to that.
well philip craig wrestled 145 at fargo so he might be at 140 or 145 this year.
Craig will be at 135 this year
what weight in kelly williams he should do pretty good this year
Kelley's goin either 152 or 160. I'm not sure what weight he decided on yet.
EKFan what schools do those wrestlers go to?
Allen Miller SME, 6th 125, 2002 will wrestle at 130 this year.
I might be wrong, but isn't there another kid that goes to SME named Miller, I think he wrestled 119 last year. Is he a senior or did he already graduate?
Yeah, his twin brother Matt wrestled 119 last year and got fifth. I think he's planning on wrestling that same weight again this year.
What grade will the two be in this year. How tough do you think the SME tournament on the 7th will be? Who do think will win the tournament?
They will be seniors this year. I'm not sure what teams will be competing in the tournament this year but expectations of the tournaments talent level are high. Many more teams have joined it since last year.
I know that Baldwin will be there and Emporia. But I think that Shawnee Heights, Baldwin, or Turner will win the over all tournament. But that is just going by here-say stuff. I have never seen Emporia. There is a lot of tough kids in this tournament.
David Tindell-SMW,Nick Clayton-SMS, Chris Hultine-Lawrence, Joe Sullivan-Garden City, Jacob Waller- Garden City, Cody Smith-Hutchinson. Here some more names from East Kansas that should shake things up a bit. Kevin Eckert, Karl Kammerer, Brandon Buck, and Heath Groom. Any of these guys could surprise alot of wrestlers this year. And on the lighter side look for Collin Swander.
Sorry got off track Heath and Brandon are both over 145 and Collin is 103.
clay-fool will go 145 for sure, look for him to be good. the SMS line up will be 135- Sultani, 140-Bogart, 145-clayton
look for ali sultani, he worked really hard this summer and has been doing some good stuff in the wrestling room. nevermind last year's dissapointments, he was sick at regionals but won league. i predict he will place at the top 3 in state.
Bill Brumbaugh from blue valley west will do good at 130 he won regionals and placed 4 in 5a state last year also placed his sophmore year, and also i heard that tyler mccormic is going 130 this year.
What weight is Cody Smith from Hutch going?
Tyler McCormick is a bad mama jama I think he'll go undefeated and destroy people all year long.
I believe that Dane Jordan from Olathe North will be a good wrestler this year.
tyler mcomick will win hands down and he will go undefeated he should have won a state title last year but he slipped up at state but that won't happen thisa year
sorry about the spelling
what weight is Dane Jordan going? Tyler isn't talked about much but is gonna be extremely tough to beat.
nick clayton will be a tough 145.
hmmm read something interesting....is mccormick going 125?and it would be good match at 130 if mccormick was there at state against bj essex
where is nick clayton form
I think McCormick would destroy essex
r u crazy? essex is huge, technique can only go so far. But i wouldnt be suprised if mccormick did beat him.
hmm didnt essex win 119 6a last year? just wondering if that was him or someone else.
nope, same school, wrong kid. marcus herrera(frosh) won state at 119. He beat out Cornego, it was close.
Marcus has been in the weight room and would beat Mccormick i think. Essex would for sure beat mccormick in my opinion.
your crazy, Mccormic beat luke metzler this summmer, he would kill essex.
ya Mcormick is way good i don't thing anyone in the state at 125 or 130 can beat him this year. i think that last year he just didn't wrestle to his potential. I wrestled with him this summer and he is a very good wrestler he should win this year hands down.
what about Hill from Wichita Heights? He is going to be up at the top, and would probably beat essex. Should find out who would win that match this weekend, at the shawnee mission tournament.
yeah, i think state will be between McCormic, and HIll. They are both GREAT wrestlers.
Is Hill going to Heights this year?
Yes hill is at heights. Don't forget about manion too, he beat essex last year.
What weight is hill wrestlin?
watch out for ryan johnson this year
Essex lost twice today at the SME tournament. Once to the kid from Turner and the other time I think he lost to the kid from Topeka Highland Park, but I'm not sure about that one. The Turner kid did beat him for sure though.
bj did lose two matches this weekend but thats because he was looking to go out there and win it with muscle...he will improve over this year and if he does get some technique i predict a close match between him and mccormick...and if mccormick doesnt wrestle 130 but 125 its going to be him against marcus Herrera so any way its going to be won hell of a final at either weight... bj got seconds at 125 last year not first at 119 that was marcus from ehs
Essex lost to Hulse 1-0. Essex looks strong as hell, that kid is huge. Jesse Cook from Highland Park pinned Essex. I think that Essex will place but, I think that he will have to wrestle tough to make it to the finals. I think that Herrera will win state this year, I wrestled him at SME at that kid is freaking strong, he beat me 3-1, but he has speed and strength.
everyone watch out for ryan johnson at 45. he hit the weightroom hard and is very good
I didn't make it to the SME tournament, how did some of the other big names do? and how did Hill do?
I only know big names as far as Shawnee Heights goes. Phil Hart went 5-0 and looked very tough. He thoroughly dominated Figge from Turner. I think the final score was something like 12-1. Blake Malloy hasnt got down to 171 yet, but he split time at 189 and went 3-0. Tanner Gardner went 5-0 with 5 pins. Shawnee Heights should be very very tough this year as a tournament team. They are weaker as a dual team becuase they dont have a 103, 112, or 135 pounder right now. We will see how they do once the tournaments are not dual tournament anymore.
Steinmatz went 4-0, he didn't wrestle his last match do to an injury. Flamez had 5 sticks. Hulse went 4-1 losing to cook. Jones went 4-1 losing a close match to Herrera. Johnny Pray had 4 sticks and almost a tech. Turner beat Shawnee Heights really bad in the finals, I think that the final score was like 53-19.
Turner did put it to SH in the finals (51-24), but SH was not at full strength. Shane Reedy didnt make weight. Malloy hasnt got down to 171 either. Jackson Waechter(125) is also out with an injury. As a dual team I definitely agree that Turner has an edge on Shawnee Heights, but state isnt a dual.
If you remember Kapaun Mount Carmel over the past 3 or 4 years you will see that they were a mediocre dual team but always placed top 4 or 5 in state. That is becuase they had 2 or 3 champs each year and a couple other placers. That is all you need to place top 3 or 4. I see Shawnee Heights being a team like that this year. They have 3 or 4 kids who could win state (Gardner, Hart, Reedy, Malloy) and definitely will place high, and 2 or 3 other that will probably place (Crossen, Waechter, Maddox, Tast). It will be interesting to see how they end up this year.
Steinmatz would have whooped up on Malloy. He was looking forward to getting his hands on him at SME. I heard that Malloy's coach wouldn't let him go 171 at SME.
I doubt Steimetz would whoop up on Malloy. I would think it would be a very close match. I think when they wrestled last year it was 3-2. I sure they have both improved this year, so I guess we will have to wait until Basheor when they get a chance to wrestle eachother hopefully. Why would the Shawnee Heights coach not let Blake wrestle 171? That seems a little stupid. The reason he wasnt there is becuase he hasnt got down to weight yet. He should be there by this weekend for the Colby tournament.
At the SME dual tournement Emporia wrestled Turner and lost 36-28 but Emporia won 8 matches and Turner won 6. The only reason they beat Emporia was due to lots of pins which a couple should of never happened.
They still lost though thats all that matters
well i say they come back and wrestle emporia right before state..... i'm not talking trash on Turner but it wont be one of the streaks they had against emporia and stalling should deafintly not be an issue along with the pinns
I agree we should come back and wrestle Emporia. I asked my coach if we see you guys again this year and we don't. There might have been some bad calls, but you guys weren't that aggresive against us. Not nocking you guys but I watched herrera and he was shooting and very aggresive with other wrestlers and when I wrestled him he only shot 4 times. Don't get me wrong he won and he is a hella of wrestler, but don't sit here and say that you guys had bad calls because there were calls not made against you guys that weren't called.
Everyone is forgetting about one wrestler and that one wrestler is Matt Crystal BVNW. He started off the season 7-1 down at the southwest shootout. what about him?
i agree, i saw him wrestling at fall brawl and he wrestled like a beast. He should place at state this yr. any word on ben boyd?
Looking tough, it looks like his mind is on right
I'm from Olathe North and Dane Jordan and Matt Matheson are wrestling very well so far. I believe both these guys will qualify for state. D\
Does anybody no for sure what weight tyler McCormick is going to wrestle this year. Let me know if you do thanks.
crystal is probably going 145. what the hell? matheson is wrestling around 130? he must have gained some weight...
Jared Patterson is going to be tough this year. He beat Essex last year. He also beat the person that Essex wrestled in the finals last year.(I can't remember who it was).
essex wrestled nick munoz on the finals.
what do u mean exkansaswrestler that "crystal is cut"?
patterson got messed up by munoz at regionals last year.
At 140 Bogart will win it without any competion. 145 is stack with a lot of good guys, i think mcCormick will do good at 130 if he goes there.
Patterson beat Munoz earlier in the season. I think that they were 1-1 for the season against eachother. They're both good wrestlers.
McCorminck is at 125 I work with him and talked to him today
Patterson beat munoz twice last year he beat him at greatbend and the newton tournament
how much is mccormick cutting to get to 125?
why does everyone talk so much about essex? he is a good kid but isnt great
McCormick is not cutting that much 5 pounds
I think Patterson is in good running to be a state champion
yeah he does hes a good wrestler
