While you guys were all out grappling today, I prepared for the largest Kansas Day bash ever to be held outside of the state.

So I'd like to wish you all a happy Kansas Day! For one day, we can forget about our differences and join in the celebration of the greatest state known to mankind. (Even though it is the home of Igel.)

And now, some fun Kansas facts:
Population--2.7 Million
Governor--Kathleen Sebelius (d)
Nickname--"The Sunflower State"
State Motto--"Ad Astra Per Aspera" (To the stars through difficulty.)
State Animal--American Bison
State Reptile--Ornate Box Turtle
State Supermodel--Prant Garker
State Amphibian--Barred Tiger Salamander
State Insect--Honeybee
State Tree--Cottonwood Tree

State Song-- Home on the Range
Area Codes--316-620-785-913
Flower--Sunflower not touching that one
Flag--
On a navy blue field is a sunflower, the state flower. Also, the state seal and the words "Kansas". In the picture of the state seal are thirty-four stars representing the order of statehood. Above the stars is the motto "To the Stars Through Difficulties". On the seal a sunrise overshadows a farmer plowing a field near his log cabin, a steamboat sailing the Kansas River, a wagontrain heading west and Native Americans hunting bison. Flag adopted 1927.

Hehehe. Thanks for taking it well. I didn't want to upset you and have your 'badness' with either pen or brawn descend upon me!

Congrads to your HatTown tonight at JC. They looked good.

I hate to brag, and I really don't know if anyone cares but something else that could be added to the list for today is Heather Shelley from Scott City won the Colgate Country Showdown. In winning the competition she received $100,000 and the title Best New Act In Country Music. She's still in high school and only 18 years old. Quite an accomplishment if you ask me.

I know that soon she will be on KFNF. They play a lot of that between wrestling broadcasts.
