Who will be the top 6 placers at 4a state at 112, 119, 125, 130, 140, 160, 171, 189, and 215?
Ladies and Gentlemen....
It's a bird,
IT's a plane,
No it's.....
CAPTAIN OBVIOUS!!! LOL
They don't have heavy weights in 4A... why stop at 215.
going off what i've seen this season.
112: Levi Eddie,Josh Sharp,Kyle Buhler
119: Tanner Dawson, Ross Devoe, Cody Bell, Blayze Bahe, Cory Bloodgood
125: Luke Geske, Dexter Deeds
130: Jake Kriegbaum, Cole Garcia, Kyle Grape, Caleb Schultz
140: Jeremy Terrel( havent seen to much of 40 4a this year)
160: Ross Taplin, Derek Lang, Mark Hartsook, Jesse Strawn, Nick Zahm
171: Russ Fitzgerald, Wes Weller, Kyle Flory
189: Jacob Marrs, Zach Sheets, Brandon Cowen, Ben Gurtler
215: Travis Weller, Matt Campbell, Josh Brown,
Tyler Thoreson
These names arent in any order, they are just off the top of my head. good luck to all wrestlers, and i guess we will see in 4wks who deserves what.
4A Heavyweight:
1. Bedore - Goodland
I don't know if Levi Eddie is even at 112's anymore, I know he is ranked there, but he was at 119's at the SPC.
Bedore, Greer, and Lewis are all heavyweights
Maybe no one cares about the heavyweights anymore? Or maybe he just didn'tthink about it
How bout we make this a more interesting topic and ask who do you think will do good from 103-275....cuz you left out some exciting weights like 145 and 152.
103 Bahe
112 Eddie if he's there
119 Bahe, Devoe, or Dawson exciting weight
125 Geske
130 Kreigbaum
135 Bowman
140 Terrell
145 Grater
152 Bracket is loaded as usual
160 Taplin
171 Flory
189
215 Pretty wide open bracket
275 Tough Bracket but I gotta go with Bedore
I know the topic is top 6 but I took the easy way out and just put who I think will be at the top of the podium
yes, the top six is hard. It would be much easier if there weren't so many good wrestlers in Kansas, but alas.....I will keep trying.
Fisher
Eddie-Wall
Dawson-Devoe
Geske-Schroeder, Milstead
Kriebaum
Bowman, Prater
Terrell
Grater
Erisman
Taplin
Davis
Marrs-Sheets
Rupp
Bedore
That Hamilton (112) kid from Chanute looked pretty solid this week-end. I think he will place high and be in the running to win it.
103-don't know
112-Sharp,Buhler
119-Bell,Bahe,Bloodgood,Devoe
125-Lopez,Geske
130-Kreigbaum,Schultz
135-Bowman
140-Terrel
145-Grater
152-Trammel,Hasty
160-Arreola,Taplin,Strwn,Zahm
171-Flory
189-Sheets,Cowen
215-Weller
275-Bedore
I have a feeling that Weller won't win state.
If they mean Weller from Clay Center, then i think i'll have to agree with Jhris. Wellersaurus will come up a bit short this year.
Weller from Clay Center, win state, what, if that's true then i gotta go to 4A and win me a state title in that horribly tough class.
You probably need to win some more 6a matches before you talk trash on 4a buddy.
Erisman is still in 4A, right?
these are my opinions on how the placers will go in order.
103-1 fisher, baje or tibbles have been close all year.
112- Wall, sharp, hamilton, powell
119- Devoe, eddie,dawson, baje
125- ortiz, geske, deeds
130-kriegbaum, garcia wrestled kriegbaum 10-8 at beloit, stultz grape
135- Prater, bowman, lund, finley, peterson
140-Terell, mckinney
145-grater, grater, grater, eden
152-sharpe, wiscombe, erisman, metcalf
160-taplin, strawn, zahm,
171-flory davis olson
189-marrs ? ? ?
215-???????
hwt- bedore
mckinney??????
how is that ....the kid has been getting whooped up on.
Actually the Kriegbaum-Garcia Beliot match score was 10-0.
Sorry, it was a misprint in the paper then.
103 is Blake Fisher from Andale also from there Judd Schreoder might place
For 135 4a- I am going to have to go with Max Connelly From SFT. He beat peterson last weekend, beat lund at rossville and wrestled bowman to a 2 point match at basheor linwood, I believe he has just as good of shot at winning it as anyone else does.
no, max suck jagon.
why?...because I said so
Kriegbaum beat Garcia 10-0???!!! Holy **** , I thought for sure that Garcia would beat him
You thought wrong, what would prompt you to doubt a 3X 4A state champion?
oops my bad, I forgot about cole garcia, I was gonna say....geez... While I'm on the topic, who do you think would win if the 2 wrestled? Too bad Cody Garcia and Kriegbaum aren't at the same weight, cuz then we'd get to see what would happen this weekend, at the Rose Hill tournament.
You know I've neer seen Cody wrestle in a "real" competitive wrestling match, by that I mean I haven't been to a tournament or dual where he has wrestled. I did see him and doug hoover mess around in a freestyle match at kids state but that didn't count. I have seen Jake wrestle and when he wants to and he's on his game I don't think there is another person at his weight in the state that can beat him, I might be wrong though.
Garcia's just so fluent and strong with everything he does, it's just hard to imagine anyone being able to beat him.
Shut up Bingham! You still chasing those fat Burlingame girls? Or still trying to get on mine?
145 - Grater, Eden, Eisenhower, Gossett, Flemming, Chenowith
Wiscombe Max will defiantly have a good shot at 135. Also at 171 Boyer from Clay Center has pinned Olsen from Colby.
Flory just beat Fitzgerald 9-5 in Baldwin at 171. Connelly from SFT got it taken to him by Faircloth from De Soto in a meet last week, so how far is he going to go, HEH? Eden from SFT got beat by Starcher from Tongie in Baldwin and threw a hissie fit. Oh, and Wiscombe you might want to get ready for erisman, because he'll certianly be ready for you and he IS the best in KS at 152.
I would like to apologize for the last post from fireball. I do not know who you are, but please do not talk trash regarding my wrestlers for or against them. We do not disrespect others and the santa fe trail athletes and coaches on this forum have not talked trash in any way. The best 152 pounder will be decided in wichita, not on this forum. Please keep your comments to yourself.

Fireball,
I believe you are a bit confused! Faircloth never did beat Connelly, he beat Crotinger. And at the Baldwin tourney Crotinger turned around and tech falled him. As for Eden I am sure he will be a little more prepared at Leauge. I think Mr. Desoto said the rest for 152, we will see about that at state. Not the rankings...
what about cody bell... hes definitly winnin 119 this year
The 4a 119 backet looks tough this year. I wouldnt say anyone is gonna definitly win it yet but i would go with Bahe, Bell, Devoe, or Dawson to win it. They're all real tough wrestlers. Good luck!
Isnt Eisenhour(scott city) 3A?? and where are Gossett and Chenowith from?
Eisenhower -Scott City
Gossett - Buhler
Chenowith - Clearwater
What about prater from pratt at 135?
I think fireball is right about 152! Erisman should dominate Wiscombe unless he has gotten a whole lot better. I also think 119 4a is the toughest bracket in all classes. Some very good wrestlers in that class.
I think Andy O'neal from sumner academy is a very good wrestler. He'll place around 4th at state at 130.
First of all, I don't think that anyone has mentioned Taylor Finley of Colby at 135. Haven't seen him a whole lot, but he is good and hasn't recieved enough credit. At this point I think he has three losses. Also, instead of 119 4A I am going to have to go with 125 3A as the toughest weight in all classes, Hopefully Tyler will tear everyone else up, good luck buddy.
I noticed that cody bell got beat out at garden city.
Did Cody have a bad tournament? I seen him wrestle at the Bobcat Classic an he looked pretty sharpe there.
you guys like to keep cutting wiscombe down but i know every guy has wrestled hurt before and if he is going to dominate wiscombe so bad then it shouldn't matter wether or not he is hurt or not if he is so good, the way i see it he is the one that needed to get better because justin is ready. and to fireball you should just not talk period.
I think sharpe will do better than expected at 152 he always steps it up when it counts he got 4th last year and 2nd as a sophmore and he did give taplin his only loss of the year last year he did have shoulder problems earlier this year to that i know of
I agree with Phil where is Taylor Finley (Colby) hes 25-3 and his only losses are to Brendon Lund (Clay Center),Josh Pfannesteil (Hays), and Martinez (a New Mexico state champ) and he has beat Tracy Jordan and is one of the top in the state with pins, so I think he deserve to be mentioned.
It's Curtis Chenoweth, not Chenowith, there is no i in it! So if you're gonna talk about him, please at least spell his name right. He deserves that much. Also, Chad Roberts (Louisburg) will be up there at 145.

Ok, I think Marrs Bars will win at 189 and I'm not just saying that because I'm from Clay either. I think Sheets has 4 losses on the year that I know of. 1 to Marrs and 1 to Gurter, if I'm not mistaken. Marrs has only lost to Butler and Pietrzyk.
At 152 I don't think Metcalf will win it. I think Erisman is the frontrunner by a nose with Wiscombe and Sharpe right behind him.
I really do hope Bowman, from Columbus, does win state. He's a great guy and one helluva wrestler. He gave Jones a run for his money on two separate occasions, that I saw, last year and he deserves to win it.
I think Prater from pratt will take state at 135..hes got the hardest work ethic i've ever seen...i guess we'll see thou..nothings sit in stone
103-Bahe
112-Eddie
119- im going to have to go with Dawson then Devoe
125-Geske got this year
130-Kriegbaum
135-Bowman, Lund
140-Gilbert of Clay Center he hasn't wreslted much of this year but look for him at state
145-Grater then maybe eden idk
152- tough way to tough...but if i had to choose one it would be erisman can't go wrong with him but wiscombe is lookin good
160-taplin no question
171-flory, weller, boyer, fitzgerald
189-marrs
215-Guy Miller
275-Bedore
Sorry DeanMachine, but I think that Terrell has the best chance at 140 since he is a returning state champ, plus 140 isn't that strong from top to bottom compared to some other weight classes.
Levi Eddie from Ulysses is wrestling 119 this year. I have also heard that Guy Miller is out for the season. At the garden city tourny he messed his knee up...the same one he hurt during fb season i guess...
Lund will not take 2nd at state!!!
Don't count out joey ortiz at 125, he is really looking strong, and Daniel Prater of Pratt has looked strong all season and for some reason is still below the radar screen. Also Blayze Bahe at 119 has as good a chance as any of the top guys in that class.
I Think Jake Wallace From Circle Should Be Thrown In There Somewhere, Hes Pretty Good, Id Have To Pick Him For State Champ Or Atleast Runner-Up
i dunno, joey ortiz is doing pretty well this year. he has only lost to one guy that isnt even in 4A that he beat this weekend
I put all my money on Erisman. Because for one thing I believe he is the best wrestler at 152 and he wrestles like a winner. Fair and square. No cheapshots, nothing underhanded, just good technique, quickness, thinking on your feet, being one step ahead of your opponent and being agressive on the mat. Let the best men win. That's how sports should be played and won.
Good luck to all you Athletes that work hard at being the best they can be.
I get the impression that people don't like this Lund guy

I like Tibbles of Colby should be a little higher than 5th.
I dont know who Kyle is but he's right. I hope "wrestler4 life" keeps overlooking Finley and Tibbles. Some are holding back all their moves until Regionals. Abilene will be Great next week!
I have to throw in a name that I don't think has gotten half the recognition it deserves... Ryan Heffley (HWT) from Basehor-Linwood is currently 26-5 (??) He has made a total turn around from last year and has a very high chance of placing at state at 275. So far this year he has posted wins over Rittinghouse of Bonner and Payne of Paola. I'm not saying he'll be a state champ, but he's definitely someone to watch out for
