I know we are not supposed to repeat threads, but Greg is a Kansas kids wrestling hall of famer, at the very least. A man that has dedicated his life to wrestling! From what I have heard he needs the prayers of all of us in the wrestling family. We will take time in our practices to pray for him and his family. We sure hope to see you in the stands again Greg. May God Bless you always!

In addition, Kier's Thritway has donated a $50 in store gift certificate that people can register for over the next four weeks. A drawing will be held at the end of the four-week period.

In addition, the club has served as a building block for the CCCMS and CCCHS wrestling teams.

Grater also has assisted Rocky Downing at KCLY with CCCHS wrestling coverage over the past several years.

After his diagnosis last September, Grater had a severe pancreatitis attack on Nov. 11 and spent a few days in the Clay County Medical Center and Salina Regional Medical Center.

He has been a patient at the KU Medical Center since Nov. 16.

Since his stay in Kansas City, Grater has undergone three surgeries, numerous CT scans, x rays and many other tests.

Pancreatitis is an inflammation of the pancreas. The pancreas is a long, flat gland tucked behind the stomach between the upper part of the small intestine (duodenum) and the spleen.

The pancreas plays an important role in digestion and metabolism.

The organ produces enzymes essential for digestion and secretes hormones that help control blood sugar levels. These functions may be affected by pancreatitis that occurs when digestive enzymes, instead of breaking down food in the small intestine, attack the pancreas itself.

Grater lives north of Green with his wife, Leanna, and sons Gavin and Danny. He also has two older sons, Jacob and family of Clay City, Ky., and Courtney and family of Clay Center. He is the grandfather to four grandchildren.

Grater's other immediate family include his mother, Reva and sisters, Terri Jermark and Vicki Pfizenmaier and their families.
