Looks like Hutchem is back with a new name. That's good news for all of us.

And yes, tennis is #1.

EMAW.

Well I think if your goign to post on this site perhaps wrestling should be #1 otherwise you really shouldn't be on the site, followed by football, soccer, and everything else
Posted By: Prant Garker Re: Rank the best HS sports - 04/21/03 10:01 PM
Nigel loses all credibility! He likes soccer!

And oh yeah, he can't spell.

Does anyone know where McCormick is going next year?
Posted By: kswrestler101 Re: Rank the best HS sports - 04/22/03 02:11 AM
wrestling, football yeah. 1 and 2 no doubt, but soccer? what the hell. Abilene doesnt even have soccer in their program. Shut up and sit down.
Posted By: SillyBIlly Re: Rank the best HS sports - 04/26/03 08:28 AM
It is wrestling, then football and GOLF.. Golf is the best sport.. Haha in our school, golf is the only spring sport winning anything.

1 Wrestling
2 Football
3 I don't watch girls sports very much
Posted By: BuffTiger04 Re: Rank the best HS sports - 06/11/03 07:25 PM
Is women's arobics(sp) considered a sport? Or swim suit modeling? I think those should be number 1 and 2 followed by wrestling.
Posted By: Who's Next? Re: Rank the best HS sports - 06/12/03 02:43 AM
I'm not hatin on anyone here but Captain, Was that really called for? Your not Captain Crunch, so lay off on the name calling. A big shoutout to Suke Ltramel.
Posted By: LancerM Re: Rank the best HS sports - 06/14/03 06:29 PM
Hey, if it was best sport overall or one that I liked the best then it would definately be wrestling, but it's best High School sport. And no offense, but as much as I personally love wrestling, no one else at my school or many other schools other than other wrestlers really care about it at all. So I'd have to say that football is number one.

Quit wimping out be a LEADER not o follower
Posted By: Prant Garker Re: Rank the best HS sports - 06/14/03 10:48 PM
There may be a reason no one cares about it at SME......
Posted By: LancerM Re: Rank the best HS sports - 06/16/03 02:57 AM
Yeah, but I'll tell ya what Prant, we've got that tennis thing locked down. And as we all already know, that's all that really matters.
Posted By: Prant Garker Re: Rank the best HS sports - 06/16/03 01:53 PM
Good point.

I played some guys from SME in tennis this year, and they were baffled that there was something to do in Manhattan. (We have over 40,000 people here, we're not a hicktown.) One of the guys was kind of a jerk, but he still beat me. (<--totally my doubles partner's fault...) Not to worry, though: I slammed an overhead right into his junk. That's the main reason that tennis is so sweet.
Posted By: Spitfire324 Re: Rank the best HS sports - 06/22/03 09:21 AM
and the great thing about girls sports...the girls. Honestly, how many guys actually watch the game.
Posted By: coachtwink Re: Rank the best HS sports - 07/02/03 04:19 AM
Prant: If tennis is so awesome and important to you, why did you skip a meet and go to a play practice? I think Prant's favorite sports are:

1. Forensics
2. Fiddle Playin'

That's it, he really doesn't do anything else.

Coachtwink, I refuse to dignify your absurd statement with a response until you get yourself an Avatar. (What happened to that nice little ape you used to have?) And make sure you approve it with that babe wife of yours first...don't want you to get in any trouble. In fact, why don't you just make a picture of her your new A :p vatar?
Posted By: coachtwink Re: Rank the best HS sports - 07/07/03 05:21 AM
I don't know what happened to my avatar. I had to re-register a couple of weeks ago. I guess I stayed away too long. I haven't had time to find a new one (some of us do have to work to make a living and coaching little kids soccer does NOT count as working).

PS: If my wife were my avatar you would be too distracted to post and then Sark Mith Saybon wouldn't know what to do.
Posted By: Nigel Isom Re: Rank the best HS sports - 07/08/03 04:55 AM
How can you say I lose credibility for liking soccer? Soccer is an international sport just like wrestling. As a matter of fact soccer is the most played sport in the world if my facts are correct. Besides at least I don't go to a tennis forum and say that wrestling is the best sport. Poor Grant you are a confused individual. oh and my avatar is way better than yours anyway
Posted By: Prant Garker Re: Rank the best HS sports - 07/08/03 05:50 PM
Who is Grant, and why is this man's spelling so bad?
Posted By: chewbacca Re: Rank the best HS sports - 07/08/03 05:56 PM
i'll leave soccer to the Europeans and South Americans. And even my lowly avatar is better than Nigel's (even though it doesn't come close to Prant's).
Posted By: Nigel Isom Re: Rank the best HS sports - 07/09/03 05:58 AM
It would make better sense if it at least matched your name. And it's sad that when a man can't even remember his own name
Posted By: CaptainForumFreedom Re: Rank the best HS sports - 07/09/03 02:47 PM
How dare u to disrespect the dead coachtwink. Sark Mith Saybon was a valuable asset to the forum during his brief time here, yet you insist on defacing his memory. Shame on you. You don't deserve such a jaw-droppingly hott wife.
Posted By: coachtwink Re: Rank the best HS sports - 07/09/03 05:06 PM
No disagreement there (just don't let her know).
Posted By: Greenbackwresler Re: Rank the best HS sports - 07/10/03 04:29 AM
NOTHING beats sittin around on a saterday/sunday afternoon and watching 50 some high school girls run around in spandex, deffinitly the #1 hs sport is volleyball, followed by football followed by wresling, im sure ill draw some flack for putting football in front of wresling
Posted By: Nigel Isom Re: Rank the best HS sports - 07/10/03 05:35 AM
Well at least its more respectful than tennis in front of wrestling
Posted By: Greenbackwresler Re: Rank the best HS sports - 07/12/03 06:01 PM
And i have got to say nigel, even tho you stuck up for me in your last post. That the mention of soccer was totally uncalled for. I mean come ON nigel, what is soccer really??? i bunch of guys playing with what only wreslers have. as all sports are i realize. but at least in football if i get mad, i can assert great physical pain on my opponent by throwing my body into his. And in tennis you can assert even greater physical pain on your opponent by putting a 90 mph serve right in his junk. and thinking about that makes me realize that the best highschool sport isnt football as i had once thought. But tennis, what other sport can boast a 90 mph nut tap???
Posted By: Prant Garker Re: Rank the best HS sports - 07/12/03 06:35 PM
I myself have performed this "90 mph nut tap."
Multiple times, actually. I'm not sure if it felt better when I won the match or when I lost, but I played some D-Bags from SM East and got a good one in. I talked about it at the tennis banquet.
Posted By: Nigel Isom Re: Rank the best HS sports - 07/12/03 07:15 PM
Hey,

don't get me wrong wrestling is #1 by far above any other sport. Football comes next although I hated football practice and our team has sucked for like the last 6 years. And then soccer. I play intermural soccer just becuase it keeps me in shape and its fun. I like to watch the grand slams of tennis on tv, but high school tennis is boring that is why I don't like it
Posted By: Greenbackwresler Re: Rank the best HS sports - 07/13/03 09:59 AM
Nigel did you not read my post?? soccer is NOT COOL. there is not contact, there is not pain, its just a bunch a guys running around in short shorts kickin a ball. does a sport get any gayer than that??? and if you get mad and go psycho you get a "yellow card" if you ask me it rates just above baskettball in WORST hs sports. and to top it all off the kids doing it could be doing the 2nd best sport behind tennis. FOOTBALL, soccer season is in the fall, just like football, so you KNOW that all the kids are wimps. i can understand maybe playin during the spring if your not any good at tennis, i mean i do track wich has got to be the 3rd worste sport in hs. but during FOOTBALL???? DOES ANYBODY ELSE HAVE A PROBLEM WITH THIS????
Posted By: Brett Shoffner Re: Rank the best HS sports - 07/14/03 12:57 PM
You can get a yellow card in wrestling too.

I have never and will never play soccer, but **** , those guys are in shape. As good, or better, in shape for wrestling than cross country guys because of 2 things: 1) Endurance like X-country and 2) sprinting, unlike the x-c guys. The best of both worlds.

Maybe Nigel only likes soccer for its health value (hopefully, because it'd be hard to imagine an Abilene foot fairy)
Posted By: Bobby Bovaird Re: Rank the best HS sports - 07/14/03 05:04 PM
Man, I've got to speak out here in defense of soccer. I played soccer longer than I wrestled as a kid... now I'm coaching both sports. No contact? No pain? Whoever posted that has either never played soccer at all or has experience that is limited to phys ed soccer or the under-5-years-old recreational level. I had a coach once tell me that players run an average of 5 miles each game - most of that at a dead sprint. Besides, ever seen a slide tackle? The older the age group, the dirtier the tackle, and the more you get away with it. I played soccer in the fall to keep me in shape, have fun, and have a let-down before the intensity of wrestling season. But, I did spend my springs and summers wrestling. In my book, wrestling is #1, soccer is #2... and soccer is far above basketball. Come on, dude...
Posted By: Nigel Isom Re: Rank the best HS sports - 07/14/03 07:23 PM
Im not saying that soccer is a better sports than others, im just saying to me soccer is more intertaining than tennis or basketball, you want to talk about no contact, you get fouls called on for touching someone's wrist in basketball, to me basketball is the worst sport to play.
Posted By: Brent Lane Re: Rank the best HS sports - 07/15/03 03:36 AM
Obviously wrestling will be the tops on my list of favorite sports. Right next to that is football. Aside from that, I don't care what sport it is or what type of activity it is. Anyone who can compete aught to feel lucky they get to. I enjoy seeing people compete no matter what. One thing to keep in mind. Some people can not compete at all, whether it be due to physical disabilities or mental. Secondly, some sports are being cut or done away with. Cheerleading in Salina is not allowed to travel to any away events/games this upcoming season. Cheerleading, is it a sport? Ask any cheerleader and they will tell you they are not there to simply look pretty. Those girls work hard and some often get injured. Each sport presents it's own particular challenge that individuals must endure. Some might not seem as tough as other (initially) but put yourself in their shoes and you will find it isn't as easy as it looks. Just my 2 cents.
