We had quite a few squealers in leavenworth this weekend. What is everyones take on the squealers? (Aside from true injuries)
Posted By: Fatt Mox Re: Squealers..... - 12/06/04 03:36 AM
yo boach who you say was squealin?
Posted By: LancerM Re: Squealers..... - 12/06/04 03:48 AM
They're annoying. There was a kid from Baldwin who did it in every match he was in. He subsequently was pinned in every match he was in.
Posted By: fris kitzgerald Re: Squealers..... - 12/06/04 02:08 PM
Are you saying something boach? are we gonna have to get physical here. jp
Posted By: boach_clack Re: Squealers..... - 12/06/04 04:05 PM
JP? I was not saying that you were squealing fris but I can make you squeal if you wish.

And notsofat275 you should have been squealing as much weight as you were giving up to those fattyboomballaties.
Posted By: coachtwink Re: Squealers..... - 12/07/04 03:58 AM
The best display of wrestling ineptitude is the foot stomp. This is when you kick your legs wildly while getting pinned. I haven't seen this in several years and I have spent the last 2 years at many JV tournaments which is usually where the practitioners of the foot stomp wrestle.

Has anyone seen a good foot stomp lately, or is it a lost art form?
Posted By: Dingbat Re: Squealers..... - 12/07/04 01:11 PM
Prant does the foot stomp every time I make him name ten cereals.
Posted By: Shane Koranda Re: Squealers..... - 12/07/04 01:15 PM
I see it most every time I go out and ref a date, be it a duel or a tourney...and it doesn't need to be JV!! We had some squealers and stompers at the El Dorado Tourney this past weekend. I think one of them stompers was even a Sr.!!!!!
Posted By: zach holzmeister Re: Squealers..... - 12/07/04 01:33 PM
lol boach i have seen the foot stomp many times at the hoxie tourney, so i can tell you with some confidence that it is still a common art form
Posted By: zach holzmeister Re: Squealers..... - 12/07/04 01:35 PM
sorry not boach but coach twink
Posted By: boach_clack Re: Squealers..... - 12/07/04 01:44 PM
The only way dingbat would squeal is if he had to wrestle his man crush....Boyle form Norton. Isn't that right Dingbat?

Dingbat, I didn't know your love was still so strong. He actually lives in KC now, for the right price I might be able to arrange a match!
Posted By: Prant Garker Re: Squealers..... - 12/07/04 06:44 PM
If by "arrange a match" you mean "blind date," then heck yeah, Fatbat's in.

While I myself have never perpetrated the foot stomp (how DARE you slander my good name, Fatbat), I have seen the infamous Jhris Cennings "knee problem." I'm sure you are all quite familiar with this excuse/stalling tactic.
Posted By: Dingbat Re: Squealers..... - 12/07/04 06:52 PM
Boyle lives in KC?!? Be still, my beating heart!

And no, he has never made me do the foot stomp. I battled courageously in our only duel, actually earning a point in an 11-1 tech fall (freestylie). I was the only one to score on him at that tournament, so suck on that. Then he power-bombed Adam Polansky.
Posted By: kanwrman Re: Squealers..... - 12/07/04 07:45 PM
Squealing is to pleasant of a sound for a true fish wrestler to make and takes little skill. Now faking a high pitch asthma wheeze is much more effective, the occasional mat fart is a true show of effort or lack there off, and the fake i have been choked out move is great.

Posted By: Shane Koranda Re: Squealers..... - 12/07/04 09:16 PM
I personally love it when a wrestler gets mad that I didn't stop the match quick enough since he was yelling at the top of his lungs, "I CAN'T BREATH!!!"

If you can yell...

i remember boyles match in the finals hsi senior year. picked the kid up and put the half in the air

So I do feel man-crush rekindled. This is just splended. Maybe you guys could hang out skip rocks across the lake, hold hands and walk in the park, yoga, knitting, watch breakfast at tiffany's, and cuddle when it gets really cold out.

hey coachtwink...can you get the ball rolling on this one?

PS Prant, I bet I could make you stomp your feet and I ain't talking about square dancin'.
Posted By: boach_clack Re: Squealers..... - 12/08/04 02:19 AM
PS boach is up to 196 posts and closing in fast on the 200 club.
Posted By: coachtwink Re: Squealers..... - 12/08/04 12:02 PM
Don't apolgoize for calling out a foot stomper. Their success in perfecting the artform should be heralded. Any other closet foot stompers, ahem Prant (I think he is in a lot of closets does anyone else agree?) should feel free to come out and shout their accomplisnments from the mountain tops. I hope some of you show up at tournaments I will be at this year so I can remember just how beautiful the sight is.

Dingbat: I'll have to set up a "meeting" sometime. Maybe I can come along and chaperone so it won't be too intimidating for you. As long as I don't pay for anything I'm in!

Let me throw out a hat ville native...Mike Bammes. Now, he was a hell of a wrestler, but every time he looks at the top of his head he lets out a shrill that sends dogs into fits.

As for the best dressed coaches: our new basketball coach is often seen in a sweatervest at practice. Take that for what it's worth.
Posted By: Ryan Johnson Re: Squealers..... - 12/09/04 08:54 AM
hey prant i do recall a time at ottawa where you screamed like a little girl.
Posted By: boach_clack Re: Squealers..... - 12/09/04 07:39 PM
RJ, was that when he got poked in the eye
Posted By: Ryan Johnson Re: Squealers..... - 12/10/04 02:02 AM
haha yeah and also when that guy from free state choked him.
Posted By: Michael Malay Re: Squealers..... - 12/10/04 02:50 AM
i admit i did the stomp at regioals.
thanx for reminding of it
Posted By: Aaron Sweazy Re: Squealers..... - 12/10/04 02:56 AM
Anybody know who the Junction City kid was that was allowed to call an injury timeout while being taken down against Chapman? It was the most wuss thing I've ever seen...the ref should have given some sort of point for the Chapman wrestler.
Posted By: boach_clack Re: Squealers..... - 12/13/04 12:49 AM
Don't know Sweazy...i do know that the squealers were alive and well in Highland Park. It was ugly!
Posted By: klint deere Re: Squealers..... - 12/13/04 01:39 AM
boach,
give us some squealer highlights from the melvin douglas tourney. I believe there was a heavy that bowled over some cheerleaders as well---

Dont know about squeelers but one team at clay center sure took advantage of the crybaby rule.
Posted By: hwtwrassler Re: Squealers..... - 12/13/04 10:46 PM
this is totally off subject,, but this past weekend i was watching the minneapolis tourney,, and at the 189 # finals,, the kid from minneapolis started gushing blood out of his eye,, and started walking off the mat,, and a kid from wakeeney tackled him from behind,, it was the most girlish thing i have ever seen,, and then the kid from wakeeney,, started staring the minneapolis guy down like he was tuff or somthin
Posted By: fris kitzgerald Re: Squealers..... - 12/13/04 11:15 PM
Sweazy wasn't that at regionals last year?
Posted By: stud_53 Re: Squealers..... - 12/13/04 11:56 PM
no fris it was at the jc dual ur are always trying to bring up that wilcox slam but ha ha ha ha ha get ur laughs out fool cus the **** is not funny no more u need to get some balls and grow up
Posted By: Michael Malay Re: Squealers..... - 12/14/04 12:03 AM
hwt if ur gonna talk trash ask me about it! the kid was not walkin off the mat and i didnt tackle from behind and i sure as hell didnt stare him down. thats down right stupid. i didnt even know that he was bleeding until i saw it on the ground. and one ting to ask. did the whistle blow before i took him down. no. i got off of him when i saw the blood on my arm.
Posted By: Bronco Wrestler Re: Squealers..... - 12/14/04 12:22 AM
hwt & michael, i know what appeared to be a cheap shot was within the rules, as it was state the whistle had not blown and thus the match was still going on, neither did he know the kid was cut, but i'm not saying it was the best thing to do, but don't you wrestle till the whistle? He did wrestle till the whistle and got off of him when he was supposed too, but he did not stare him down either, i'm not sure what match you watched, but he glanced at him to see how bad it was, he then proceeded to his coaches as most wrestlers do in blood time, but it was a very heated match at times with plenty of action, overtime was one to watch and that's how it should be, Malay never quit, as neither did Donovan, both should be commended on that aspect, but as for you claim of "girlishness" i'm not so sure

thanx alex
Posted By: hwtwrassler Re: Squealers..... - 12/14/04 11:14 PM
wat do u mean he didn't stare him down he looked right in his face and started bouncing like he was Rocky or somthin,, Hey Malay wat were u sayin while u were on ur knees sucking air,, i forgot,, but i know that u really like it,, and i guarantee that if Donovan would have been 100% he would have owned u,, another thing,, how many shots did u take on donovan the whole match,, now compare to his,, thats wat i thought
Posted By: LHSwrestler56 Re: Squealers..... - 12/14/04 11:24 PM
hey..who won?
Posted By: hwtwrassler Re: Squealers..... - 12/14/04 11:51 PM
Malay
Posted By: LHSwrestler56 Re: Squealers..... - 12/14/04 11:55 PM
so why are u bashing malay for winning?
Posted By: hwtwrassler Re: Squealers..... - 12/15/04 12:06 AM
cuz hes a joke,, and thinks hes the toughest wrestler ever to grace the mat
Posted By: LHSwrestler56 Re: Squealers..... - 12/15/04 12:09 AM
actually i would give that award to jeff peterson
Posted By: Prant Garker Re: Squealers..... - 12/15/04 01:02 AM
I don't know the match in question, but methinks our friend "hwtwrassler" might have a last name of "Donovan." Just a theory.
Posted By: Michael Malay Re: Squealers..... - 12/15/04 03:01 AM
i was on my knees because my dingy caught smashed between his elbow and the mat. it was swollen on sunday and i could hardly pee. by bad. tell me wat u would do. i bounce cause im in good shape. and i didnt take a shot cause i dont shoot. just not my thing i could but i dont. and he laid on top of me for 2 min. strait and didnt do anything.
Posted By: I'm your huckleberry Re: Squealers..... - 12/15/04 03:58 AM
Micheal (d2) that is way more than we really wanted to know. Man if your art teacher hears about this she might write you a pass to go ice during school. Ask her tomorrow.
Posted By: Michael Malay Re: Squealers..... - 12/15/04 03:32 PM
hwt wrassler if u wanna talk trash do so. but u r just blabbing ur mouth. do sumthing about it. cut to 189 and wrestle me. if u think im such a staller cut and wrestle me.
Posted By: Aaron Sweazy Re: Squealers..... - 12/15/04 03:35 PM
and the WIENER of the tournament: Michael Malay!
Posted By: ybsmall Re: Squealers..... - 12/15/04 03:39 PM
I watched the match, and actually taped most of the matches. He did do the staredown and bounce thing. He's intense and you have to respect that. He earned the win no dout. They both stalled the third period. Some of our wrestlers could learn from how hard Malay wrestles, and how intense he is. Like I said I respect that! Congratulations on the win. No, I'm not related to Donovan.
Posted By: hwtwrassler Re: Squealers..... - 12/15/04 11:55 PM
Please Malay,, trust me,, i gurantee u that u would be no match at me for all,,, i would lateral drop u on ur head,, wait i bet u don't like to pummel either do ya,, just stand back,,, u bounce becuz ur in shape,, if ur so in shape,, how come u don't shoot,, i mean if u have that much air left in you y not go ahead and take a shot and maybe score,, everytime u walk off the mat u should be drained,, because that means u gave everything u had into the match,, if u have that much energy to bounce around,, it just means that u aren't working hard,, and there my point is proven
Posted By: Michael Malay Re: Squealers..... - 12/16/04 12:16 AM
thanx ybsmall

Posted By: Nate Naasz Re: Squealers..... - 12/21/04 12:51 PM
It's official, I have seen my 1st foot-stomp of the year and it was quite the show. Too bad it was our 160 pounder at the LCHS Dual this past Sat. I though he was doing a drum roll after he got in the leg scissors. We had to pull him aside and tell him to push with his legs and pin himself rather that doing the "stomp".
Posted By: RJW Re: Squealers..... - 12/21/04 03:08 PM
We went to a J.V. tourney last weekend and got to witness the classic squeal---> Kid on his back yelling "I can't breath!!" Doesn't it take air to yell?? Always a classic. Luckily the ref came to his rescue by slapping the mat rather than stopping the match.
Posted By: Nate Naasz Re: Squealers..... - 12/21/04 05:49 PM
I absolutely love the "I CAN'T BREATH" excuse!!!! I crack up everytime I see it.
Posted By: coachtwink Re: Squealers..... - 12/22/04 03:50 PM
Just to let every one know my foot stomp drought is over. I saw several at the Leavenworth JV tournament. They weren't perfect technique and only one was accompanied by squealing, but still it was nice to see.

Keep it up gentlemen!
Posted By: ybsmall Re: Squealers..... - 12/22/04 04:04 PM
Our freshman 152 pounder does the elephant call when trying to get off his belly. This isn't quite a squeal, but it's entertaining none the less.
Posted By: TCarmona Re: Squealers..... - 12/22/04 09:13 PM
Years ago there was this Adam Hook kid who used to wrestle for Campus. He would walk around after the ref would stop the match walking around with his hands on his neck like he was gasping for air. It was a weekly thing. Not as funny as the foot stomp.
