there have been a few new changes to the rankings are there any that you agree with or disagree with.
I was wondering why Nick Martin from BVN was ranked at 189, but in the paper it's been saying he's wrestling 215.
Why is a kid that wrestled 112 for tonganoxie at state last year ranked 6th in 4A at 135. He didn't even win a match at 112 i don't think. Just wondering how you could jump from 112 to 135 and be ranked.
Yeah, I was curious about how Tait Weatherbee, freshman-119# in 321a dropped from 4th to 5th in the new rankings? Right now he is 12-0 and has pinned 11 of his guys, including Simon Orozco, who is ranked 3rd at 125. And the only match that he did not pin he beat some ranked 6a kid 10-2.
Sorry about that. I was looking at Coach Fergola's site. His site is different than the KWCA rankings.
i dont have any idea why tait dropped but has he lost to the guys ranked ahead of him last year or did they place higher than him at state last year.
Big Time Wrestling:
I am sorry if my site has confused some. I updated the rankings on Monday night and I put down exactly what the other raters have sent me. I know that the 3-2-1A rankings are changed all of the time because Coach Lamar updates them sometimes daily. Hope that helps.
Coach Fergola
you know. if your ranked, that means that you automatically win state and place where you are ranked. PLease, settle down and look at it for what it is. We are lucky to even have people attempting to rank anyone.
Coach Fergola
I know it means nothing, but I am just wonder why David Sielert went from 3rd at 125lb in 6A to 4th behind Olyer of Hutch.
They havent met yet and Davids only loss this year was a 4-0 decision to Tyler McCormick.
No big deal, just wondering
Thanks
Max
i was wondering how chris jasperse from gardner is ranked 4th in 5a. the kid is all right but honestly if you can't even place at your own tournament then how are you going to place at state.
was just curious about the fisher kid from andale, seen him wrestle alot in juniors and assume that is same one even though I didn't realize he was that heavy,I seen where he has one his duals and took first in hesston, does he have shot,he wasn't ranked so just curious???
He is wrestling at 103,,but have seen him up to 112 also, just curious
ranking are not etched in stone, like vike said. they are just sorta nice if you are wrestling a person and you see he is ranked then you atleast get some incite about how good he may be, it ist always right but it can help. there are alot of people that should be ranked and alot that should not but really it doesnt matter cause its just opinion.
i thought that matt crystal from BVNW was at 145, he's ranked 5th at 140. he looked like he had grown when i saw him at fall brawl so im not too sure if he is at 140.
and how about the third ranked 215 in 6A, ryan stewart from manhattan? ryan stewart is from SMN. just thought that should be known.
i think oyler went up to third because he got 1st in an extremely tough tourny in oklahoma.
the weights of some of the wrestlers that are ranked need to be checked out i know that some people who are ranked at one weight dont event wrestle that weight
thats still not rigth i beat kyle olyer twice lat year and david has beaten me so i just don't understand why he would be over both of us
yea, How come Joey Brewster of silver Lake is still ranked 2nd in the State at 171? He took third at Onaga. Mitchell of Belleville won it and has not been ranked all year. Also Matt Young of Effingham beat Del-torro of Royal Valley pretty handley, and his only loss is to Grant of Eudora 1-0. In a great match!! Not even mentioned in 1-3a rankings.
just wanted to say that 125 is stacked out the goat a$$.
i was suprised to see chino elstrode was at 112 and ranked 5th then move up a weight class and be ranked 4th at 119, if anyone deserves it though, its him.
the rankings are going to have mistakes in them probably up til certification, after that most wrestlers will have settled in their respected weight classes.
i was wondering.....how tyler nelson could be ranked under phillip craig when i'm hearing that craig moved to oklahoma?? is that true about craig?
Philip Craig was only in Oklahoma for a short time. He returned to Kansas and is wrestling for Hutchinson High School.
Just wrestle......the rankings will be the rankings, it all happens on the mat!Too much of the season left to say who should be where. State will be the proving ground.
Good point wrestlingan64155. Let's save the rankings as they are today and at the end of the year see where it ends up versus those rankings. Should be some surprises looming.
alright thanks for clearing that up for me.....i was just curious
at 112..Joel Eberhart of Labette County should be ranked..he pinned a state placer on the 5a level at El Dorado..and beat the currently ranked 4th Brandon Tracy from Coffeyville..he is undefeated at 7-0.
how come they are never updated? it seems like they have only been updated a couple times since the year started.
As the 5A rankings coordinator, I only updated the website when a new rankings comes out every couple of weeks. Crazy Coach Lamaar keeps the 321A rankings updated only every second of the day. As far as the rankings goes, I can only speak from my experience, but I would bet the other raters are having the same problems. I do not recieve very much infomaition from coaches or tournament directors. I have yet to have any brackets from other tournaments involving 5A schools faxed to me. Only a handful of coaches send in information. Some coaches simply don't value the rankings or don't care about the rankings, and there is nothing wrong with that. Some coaches don't want to let out some "secret" information so they purposefly don't say anything. When we go to seeding meetings as coaches, rankings never come up. It does make publication of a tournament our dual more interesing, ie...# of ranked wrestlers/teams at XYZ tourney. However, everyone is right, the rankings don't mean anything when you step on the mat. I try to be as accurate as possible, but if I were 100% right about the rankings, then why would we even bother wrestling or competing? You want to be ranked, beat somebody. Beat someone ranked, it doesn't matter if they are 5A, 4A, 6A, or 321A, just beat them. Then get me the information, either through your coach or e-mail me. I have a list wrestlers to watch and at what weights I think they are at. Until I hear something, I will not make changes because I don't want to assume anything. When you assume you make a you know what out of you and me. This website with the results posted is really handy. I try real hard to look at papers , but the coverage of wrestling in the state Kansas isn't the best statewide. I know that wrestling in Salina gets put in the briefly section while basketball gets a pre and post game story. The results put in the paper for our team, are most often reported by me. Lastly, if you want to be ranked be the best you possibly can be. Win as many matches and tournaments you can, take on the best competition, work hard in practice, and ultimately if you don't get ranked and yet place in the state tournamet, you can say "see, I told you." If you think the rankings are easy to do, then I challenge you to do a better job. I know each rankings coordinator does an excellent job, no matter how right or wrong they are. If you have information that could help our cause, let us know. Until then, wrestle hard. Thanks for the concern and keep wrking hard.

I just want to say that David Sielert should not be ranked at all. I am not impressed with him at all. Someone should drop him from the rankings all together.
