Well that's what happens in college. You are done w/ class by 12:30 then have nothing to do... why not benefit the rest of mankind with some useful wrestling knowlege.
Posted By: Shelstin Re: Hays tourny - 01/18/06 07:21 PM
Whitehill from Mac won Newton, is undefeated at 189, I believe, but is not ranked. He probably should be. That's another tough kid not listed. I am sure that there are more.
Posted By: klint deere Re: Hays tourny - 01/18/06 07:41 PM
cole from shawnee heights is 189, i believe he is something like 18-3 or so

I don't think Travis Harper from Dodge is wrestling this semester
Posted By: wrestlingfan65 Re: Hays tourny - 01/18/06 09:13 PM
Looks like 189 should be a really hard weight class with the guys already ranked and then Jarvis from P-Burg. that should be a good weight to watch.

I know Buhler may not have a guy ranked, but Juby will place in my opinion. He's been wrestling very well thus far on the season.

Where was Goodland this weekend? I missed them at the tournament and heard several rumors. Anyone know anything?

I don't have this confirmed, but I heard some Goodland wrestlers got into some trouble in Basehor Linwood, and they were pulled out of the Hays tournament because of that. Don't know what the trouble was though.

...rumor has it and that is exactly what it is "rumor" that some members of the team were caught smoking a "little reefer". now if this happens to be true, isnt there is a 3 event suspension from competetion for such a violation? not to mention criminal charges and or prosecution...

in this case 3 event suspension would mean goodland could not compete in this weekends NWLK tourney, and the last 2 duels of the year, but i wonder if it will or could carry over to regionals, if it does, that would mean their season is over...

doing something like this definately does damage to your schools reputation and image not to mention to the community you repesent...individuals resposible are not only stupid but selfish, ruining it for the rest of the team...

yea i heard that there was alot of bad weather up there around the goodland area and they couldn't make it out,....Snow or Reefer you pick
Posted By: dirtybird Re: Hays tourny - 01/22/06 10:31 PM
if it woulda been weather then how did st francis make it and not goodland?
Posted By: Yo This Is TO Re: Hays tourny - 01/22/06 11:46 PM
I think this is between Coach Bahe and his team. I think if they wanted everyone to know they woulda came out and said it.
Posted By: TigerPride Re: Hays tourny - 01/23/06 03:57 AM
Seems like the Hays tournament was down in competition without the likes of Goodland, not taking anything away from the kids that wrestled there but I thought the tournament was very weak compared to years previous.
Posted By: SCWRESTLINGFAN Re: Hays tourny - 01/23/06 04:12 AM
Ya know, I kinda feel sorry for the guys that didn't do anything. I know Goodland has some good wrestlers that have/had a good chance of taking state this year. I hope for their sakes that the team doesn't get suspended but whatever happens, happens, and I hope the guys who did get in trouble feel bad for what they did.

To the best of my knowledge, there is no penalty designated by KSHSAA when dealing with substance abuse. Most schools will take a relatively strong stand against similar situations, and once a school establishes guilt, penalties are usually somewhat severe. The official word at the Hays tournament was that Goodland simply had too many points to attend the Hays tournament, and that is possible. I am sure that Coach Bahe runs a clean program, and if there were any problems on a trip, I am positive that it will be handled in house.

I'm not exactly sure if this is true or not either, but i heard that either thursday night or friday morning their athletic director died of a heartattack. Maybe that had somehting to do with it.
Posted By: GregMann Re: Hays tourny - 01/27/06 09:58 PM
We played basketball in Goodland this past Tuesday night (Jan. 24) and their A.D. appeared to be in very good health! I have heard that their HS principals has been sick some this year, but he was also at the game.

...i think more like he had a "heart attack" when he heard about it...

...there is some substance to the rumor and it was addressed to some degree...

i take it goodland is going to the NWKL tourny since they are hosting??
