103 - Fisher He is just to big for the other 103 pounders.
112 - Wall He is a stud seen him wrestle one time look very good.
119 - Dawson or Bahe Those two guys are to strong and fast for Devoe.
125 - Geske To strong for ortiz and has already beat deeds.
130 - Kriegbaum The MAN no one will touch him.
135 - Bowman is big and strong and looks good Prater is fast it will be between those two.
140 - Terrell looks to be the one to win it but he might have got hurt and plus I was not that impressed with him.
145 - Grater He is just to sound to beat.
152 - Erisman looks like the one to beat this week he looks good but not in very good condtion we will see who comes out on top at state.
160 - Taplin looks like he will win it very strong and domates people when he wants to.
171 - Flory will win it.
189 - Marrs vs. Sheets sheets will stall marrs will go after him, we will just see whos game plan pays off.
215 - Dont see much of any of these guys no clue.
275 - Good weight to watch Bedore will win but it will be a dog fight for 2nd 3rd 4th and 5th.
Them are just some of the thoughts I had on the weights.
I think the Fishervs. Bahe, Ortiz vs. Geske, and Lewis vs. bedore match will be really good, If i'm not mistaken Geske has been beaten a couple of times or so this year, so he isn.t bulletproof, and the Lewis / bedore deal just keeps getting tighter. Fisher, Geske, and Bedore may win their weights but those matches, in my opinion, will be the closest. Prater is very, very, good, I think better than a lot of people think, and I think he will win handily. all the other picks that were made seem reasonable to me. The toughest thing to predict in 4a, I think, will be the team title. Columbus should have the most numbers, but their close dual scores with Fort scott and Chanute indicate it may not be a cake walk for them, either. If Columbus doesn't get 11 or 12 guys through, I pick Goodland. If they do, the numbers will tip things in their favor.
Though I don't think Abilene is real deep, I think it is theirs to lose. I am curious how they will look coming out of the regional. Columbus got hurt when they lost the kid with the shoulder at Basehor. SFT also lost a kid they needed for the year. I think Goodland will get a lot of points out of the two Bahes and Bedore but don't think it will be enough. I think Abilene has about 6 kids who could do exceptional but three or 4 of them have lots of competition
abilene looks good with 6 placers at regionals and sft will be tough even with the loss. i think its between abilene claycenter and colby. i have abilene with 6 placers clay with 7 and colby with 6-7.
103 - Fisher
112 - Wall
119 - Devoe
125 - Geske
130 - Kreigbaum
135 - Prater
140 - Terrell
145 - Grater
152 - Erisman
160 - Taplin
171 - Davis
189 - Marrs
215 - Petrosky
275 - Bedore
colby should send 6 103 tibbles, 112 powell, 130 garcia, 135 finley, 152 sharpe, 171 olsen, and possibly a 7th in kleinsorge at 189 or 215
Abilene should send 5 maybe 6 but four of them could be in the finals at state 119 dawson, 130 kriegbaum, 135 peterson, 125 geske, 160 taplin,
and maybe the other dawson at 145 i think
Goodland should send 6 103 baje, 112 normandin, 119 baje, 125 deeds, 189 cowen, and 275 bedore.
I think the team race will be between these three teams with clay, santa fe, and columbus haveing a shot at the team title to.
The state tournament can be won with 5 people. Last year Abilene took 5 to state, alomst the exact same 5 they have this year, only a year better, and your saying they don't have depth? Let me add this up for you
Tanner Dawson 3rd or better = 18 pts.
Lucas Geske 2nd or better = 21 pts.
Jake Kriegbaum 1st = 24 pts.
Josh Peterson 4th or better = 17 pts.
Ross Taplin 1st = 24 pts.
Thats 104 points, this would be the worst case scenario for me, these 104 points is still more than the second place team last year. However I thin at least two of those wrestlers should place at least 1 place higher than I have them listed. Also Matt Rein might make it to state and score a few points, as well as Brice Dawson. Its might be a close race, or it might not. It all depends on how the seediing went. So Goodland kids might slip through the cracks and make it to state easy but that won't save them at the state tournament where they will most likely meet up with a Columbus kid.
take a look at Scott city
103 Kough
112 Dreiling
119 Dreiling
125 Conine
135 rosin
140 mcKinney
145 eisenhour
171 huck
189 fox
215 Katt
275 Wyatt Green
That is 11 guys that could very well get into the state tourney, and all will likely win matches, I believe That 6 or 7 will place. Columbus did the same thing last year, stopping a Goodland team that was better than
abeline at the smaller regional tournament. Abeline does have an advantage with 5 guys that can place, 3 that can win, but it puts a lot of pressure on those guys. Geske, and Dawson, are going to have to make the championship finals in order for Abilene to win the team title.
Here is my picks for that regional
103 Bahe-Good tibbles-colb dooley-con cordts-sft
112 Mundy-SFT Powell-colb Sprague=con Michaelis JW
119 Dawson-Ab Bahe Good Gennette-Con Cauthon-SFT
125 Geske-AB King-Wam Deeds-Good Taylor-Con
130 Krigbaum-AB Garcia-Colb Crotinger-SFT Tollefson-RV
135 Peterson=AB Lund-CC Finley-Colb Terry-RV
I know Lund won Beloit but I think Peterson will win at home
140 Pittenger-Wam Gilbert-CC Goodman=RV Lehner=Chap
145 Grater-CC Eden=SFT Fleming-Con Anderes-Chap
152 Wiscombe-SFT Sharpe-Colb Sutton-Kearn Con Allen-CC
160 Taplin-AB Ingenthron-Hayden Hartsook-Mary Janulis-Wam
171 Fitzgerald-Mary Weller-Chap Boyer-CC Olson-Colb (Iknow Boyer could easily be #1) I wouldn't rule out O'Toole from an upset
189 Marrs-CC Sheets-Chap Gertler-Mary Purdon-JW
215 Thoreson-Mary Westby-Chap Weller-CC Brown-Con Again Brown could be much higher
275 Bedore-Good Lavoie-Con pick 3-4-5 Shively-SFT DelToro-RV or Campbell Wam. I think Campbell belongs but don't know where
State Qualifiers Abilene-5 all champions
Clay Center 7 2-2-2-1
Concordia 8 0-1-5-2
Colby 6 0-4-1-1
SFT 7 2-1-2-2
Chapman 5 0-3-0-2
Marysville 4 2-0-2-0
Goodland 4 2-1-1-0
Wamego 3 1-1-0-1
RV 4 0-0-1-3
Hayden 1 0-1-0-0
JW 2 0-0-0-2
Settle down now, I know there is lots of room for disagreement. I just did it because I was on the fifth day of a 5 day weekend and bored. I was very surprised at what I came up with myself. I was shocked to have picked so many Con guys and also very surprised to find SFT with so many esoecially after losing Connelly and Schmale with injuries. I was also very surprised that I did not have more Goodland wrestlers.
You forgot Lewis from Ulysses at heavyweight. Him and Bedore are the best and Lavoie should get third.
I was picking the regional placings even though it is on the 4A state topic. I think Lewis will take 2nd at state and likely is better than a lot of past champions, unfortunately he has to face Bedore and yes I know he couuuuuld win it all.
Matt Campbell for Wamego has been wrestling 215 for most of the year. Look for him to be a top contender at 215.
If you check the Abilene web site they have him entered at 275 on the roster. I know it is subject to change but I assume the roster was provided by Wamego
Once again I should have posted it on the regional site not the state thread. Those are the regional picks for the Abilene regional.
Mike it really doesn't matter how many guys you take to the state tournament, its how well you place. Now SC could take 11 but im thinking they still won't place any higher than 6th. Why you might ask? Because it does no good qualifying all those kids and having them go 2 and out at State. There was another team a couple years back who brought all 13 wrestlers with them to state and still didn't place in the top 3. Like I said weak regionals isn't going to help out not so great teams.
I THINK YOU UNDERESTIMATE SCOTT CITY-- THEY BEAT GOODLAND AND SANTE FE TRAIL HANDILY IN THE DUAL TOURNEY EARLY, AND THEY BEAT ULYSSES IN THE LEAGUE MEET, THEIR FINISH AT GARDEN CITY BEHIND ULYSSES WAS, I THINK, DUE TO THE FACT THAT THEY WERE BRACKETTED IN SUCH A WAY THAT THEY MET PONDEROSA IN THE FIRST OR SECOND ROUND IN NEARLY EVERY WEIGHT, WHILE ULYSSES MET PONDEROSA IN SEVERAL WEIGHTS IN THE SEMIS OR FINALS, GIVING THEM QUITE A FEW MORE POINTS. I DON'T THINK ULYSSES WILL BEAT SCOTT CITY AT THE REGIONALS, BUT STATE IS ANYBODY'S BETWEEN GOODLAND, COLUMBUS,ABELINE, AND CLAY. IF 4 ABELINE WRESTLERS OR MORE MAKE THE FINAL, THEN MAYBE THEY WILL WIN, BUT THAT IS WHAT WILL HAVE TO HAPPEN AND THERE ARE JUST SO MANY REALLY GOOD WRESTLERS OUT THERE THAT I BELIEVE IT IS SAFER TO GO WITH 10 OR 11 REALLY GOOD WRESTLERS THAN 5 GREAT ONES. THAT WOULD HAVE BEEN THE WRONG BET LAST YEAR, AND IT MAY BE THE WRONG BET THIS YEAR, BUT OVER THE LONG HAUL NUMBERS WIN OUT MOST OFTEN. NORTON VS. HOXIE IS THE SAME WAY-
HOXIE HAS SEVERAL CHAMPIONS OR RUNNERSUP, BUT I THINK NORTON'S NUMBERS WILL WIN IT FOR THEM.
TAD GREER 275 DONT FORGET HIS GUY IN 4A HE WILL BE TOUGH
Matt Campbell will be at 215 at regionals
Once again as I've said so many times, dual records have nothing to do with State. Your only going to win State if you have several "good" wrestlers. Not just weaklings who managed to slip by into State like they do in 5 and 6A (sorry I had to say that!). But seriously, there were two teams last year Columbus and Goodland who I beleive both has 8,9, or 10 wrestlers go to state and who won it? Why did Abilene win it? Because of quality wrestlers not quantity. You get maybe 3 or 4 points out of those wrestlers who shouldn't have been there in the first place. And it hasn't helped you out. On the other hand when you've got 5 or 6 guys that are almost guaranteed to be in the top 3 or 4 you can bet they will be racking up the points. Yes state can be won on the backside much like we did in 1999 with no champions but we also placed 9 out of 10 wrestlers in the top 6 and was 1 match away from placing all 10. Several of those were 3rd places which are just as good as second. So in order for Scott City toi contend they are going to have to put several wrestlers through into the medal rounds at state, no with columbus and goodland all having tough backside teams do you really think that they stand a chance? Well we shall so won't we!
Nigel you can win state with a few great guys or lots of really good guys. If you have both then you are really one up. Either way no matter how loud you post, it isn;t going to score any points for Abilene. The most you will do is raise the ire of Abilenes opponents which isn't fair to your team because they aren't saying anything.
I guess you are all forgetting about Rose Hill, they placed 2nd at the Rose Hill, by far, one of the toughest tournaments in the state... They were only like 10-20 points behind Columbus... Fort Scott was there as well... So don't count them out...
Of course they are not saying anything, they don't need to. They are well aware of what is at state. Abilene has no opponents to speak of fanatic. You don't go to the state tournament gunning to be 1 specific team when the race is going to be this close. That is a 5A situation there were everyone is gunning to be Ark CIty year in and year out. As i've said before its going to be tight, And I think there are noly 4 teams in 4A that are going to be up there in that battle. Several of them lsited in this forum are not ones on my list. I've been at this for a long time so I think I have some idea of what im talking about. But hey hope and wish all you want, maybe you'll surprise people, but not likely.
Nigel help me out
I think in 99 i scored the most team points I think it was 23.5 I might be wrong!! dont remember. I do now that D. Tover was only .5 a point behind me. Tovar placed 2nd that year he got beat by Lyra. I placed 3rd.
Still out scored tovar who was in the finals Dont count out the Abilene Kids that might end up on the back side they do have the chance of scoring just as many points.
I had to pin every one i wrestled on sat to score that many but it can be done i think i had 5 in a row nigel help me out.
Even if Geske Dawson and Peterson dont make it to the finals they still will score a lot of points. I think all three of them have a good shot at the big show Geske is though as nails and i worked with peterson last summer i think he took 3rd last year. I dont really know The Dawson boys but i know there brother or cousin not sure how they are related and if they are anything like cory they are tough to.there are in Abilene for regionals this year so i bet that home town crowd gets a few more in the big show this year. Through in Abilene First 4 timer and Ross Taplin returning state champ. Then we get a new banner hanging in the gym right next to the other 3.
GOOD LUCK ABILENE
Brady I will see you next sat Good Luck!
ERISMAN WILL BEAT WISCOMBE AGAIN FOR THE STATE TITTLE
If I were Wiscombe I would let him beat me then I would still his mom and take her home with me so we could cuddle all night long!!!!!!! that is just me....... Any one else?
Nice Snoop, but i wouldn't just let someone beat me.....
Does anyone besides someone from DESOTO have anything to say... I mean he didnt dominate wiscombe by any means so how can you already say that he will beat him again? 3-1....state is a hole different atmosphere I cant wait to see the re-match. O yea an neils mom is very attractive!!!!!: )
Since u guys say Erisman looks like he was out of shape then he probably was. He's probably practicing really hard the rest of this week and when he meets up with Wiscombe again at state he will dominate because he'll be in better shape come state.
Every Dog has its day. But, don't forget "Big Dogs Bite Hard"
Gentlemen let's keep it clean on people's mommas or you just might get a whoopin worse than your momma use to give you!!
Well said Coach!
I am not from De Soto, but I've been saying all along that Erisman will beat Wiscombe. He did once and he'll do it again.
If Erisman "was out of shape" the first time around, so much the worse for Wiscombe!
cody bell hit the nail on the head. just cuz neil beat wiscombe 3-1 at LEAGUE doesn't mean he'll dominate the next time. I've known both neil and justin for a long time, and i'm sure they'll step it up for state. it is a whole new ballgame come wichita. should be another great match.
Hunter Samuels
Tonganoxie
Nigel I hate to tell you I have been at this before you were in diapers and I think it is fair to say there are only a handful of guys that post on this site that have been to more state tournaments than I have. The main difference is that few people have less objectivity than you.
And if you don't think Scott City for instance has a chance to compete for the title you are just plain nutty, and yes I picked Abilene to win but I am beginning to wish you wind up with egg on your face. Well not quite, I really like Taplin and Kreigbaum as people.
Fisher is my #1 pick @ 103. Good Luck to all at Regional!!
Justin Wiscombe is a very talented wrestler...at league he seemed to be a little reserved during the match with Erisman. Both are great athletes and it should be another great match...if they meet up at state. The outcome could go either way...Good Luck to both!!!
Nigel--
In a tough division (like 6A) you need many placers. A few champs won't cut the mustard. I think that is a result of tougher all-around wresting.
The reason you need so many placers in 5A and 6A is because they are so weak that most of the solid teams will score a lot of points by having their 10 qualifiers. In 4A, there are so many great wrestlers over numerous teams that they slow down all the many placers that one team can have. That's why the state results at the end of the tournaments for 4A end up at like 100-110 for the top 3, and in 5A and 6A you see teams end up with 130-140 point totals. Just my take on it!
Well im sure Scott City has a chance all be it a small one. Either way if Abilene doesn't win it, then Columbus, Goodland, or Clay Center will, so there will be no egg in my face. Futhermore if Abilene doesn't win state its not like im going to sit around and cry about it. Im already happy enough that they won league again, and I know they will fair well at State. If they do win however I will give them all the credit in the world. Dingbat I will give your comment absolutly no response because it was stupid and unfounded.
Aha...by saying that you will give my comment "absolutly" (spell check, NI), you have alrady made a comment. Ha ha! Victory is mine again.

______________________________________________
I think what was meant was from top to bottom 103 through 275. As for numbers Chapman took 4 guys I think 2 years ago and 3 of 4 made it to the semis, but the numbers game hurt them and they couldn't get some pivotal wins late and finished 11th or so, but still ahead of a lot of good teams
Dingbat actually you have it backwards. In 5A and 6A where there are 32 teams with about 20 of them having a kid capable of placing at state (84 medals) you can see those 20 teams would average about 4 placers a piece just to be average. In 4A there are 59 wrestling schools and there are an awful lot probably 45 teams or so who have at least one kid capable of placing at state. You can see that average for this group would be 2 kids or less. It is what makes 4A special and it is why it is easier to win 4A with less kids, The balance of power is spread out. 3-2-1 has even more 75-80 teams but lots of them are beginning programs or lack numbers (although I have seen several 4A, 5A and 6A programs who have too many open weights too)
Fanatic--Very good explaination. However, my post on this topic was just another successful attempt to get Nigel's panties in a bunch.
Well no doubt you succeeded. I can't help but love him despite..........I wonder what he majored in at college? Politics? Communication? Philosophy?
Dingbat i asked you a question in another fourm you never replied were are you from?
Are you a coach?
the Abilene regional was sure a setback for the big A but I remember last year when goodland looked pretty good after regionals, and got beat by Abilene and tied with Columbus. They will need to be ready because I am sure that the Abilene guys will be watching lots of film, wrestling hard at new stuff, etc. etc. and Scott City will have the numbers---- 13, to be exact. looks like a pretty good time in 4a next week. By the way, congrats to Cole Garcia!!!!
Mike, are you serious? A setback for Abilene? This is the best thing to happen to them. Did you know Mike that Abilene finished in 5th place at regionals last year, and still one state? Regionals is not like the state tournament at all. And the loses that happened were probably the best thing to happen becuase now they know what they got to work on to get ready. Just wait and see what happens at state next weekend, i bet you'll be surprised.
I think Abilene will do well, but...I've picked an NCKL school since day 1 to win it all and that was Concordia. Don't be surprised to see them make a sneak into the mix possibly. Also Clay Center looks good, and Goodland should be Greatland, because they looked awesome in the finals.
Actually despite, the numbers after looking at Scott City regional brackets, I don't think they will make a run for it and would bet Nigel is correct about them not placing higher than 6 th but then we shall see.
It also looks as though Rose Hill could make a strong showing
Time for a Dan Fouts moment:
My prediction is that the team who scores the most points will probably be the winner.
You know guys I think that all of 4a is very lucky that SFT is without 2 wrestlers, Connelly and Schmale because they got what 3rd place at regionals they lost by ten points to Goodland and Clay Center, but Connely would of won it at 135 there is 20 points right there and with Schmale he very easily would of got 12-15 points so that would put SFT ahead. They could of won that meet by 20-25 points.Just my opinion.
I don't think Abilene is in too much trouble after looking at the unofficial brackets
at 130 it will probably be a rematch between kriegbaum and garcia
at 135 if peterson makes it past the first round he might have a semi final match up with bowman
at 160 taplin can make it to the finals with a matchup against strawn
at 119 by losing at regionals dawson has put him on the opposite side of devoe and bahe and could make it to the finals
at 125 i don't know if geske can beat ortiz and if he doesn't he could make one of those rare occurances where he could run all the way through the backside and take third.
I think Abilene is in good shape. I also agree SFT would be a strong contender with Schmale and Connelly. Fortunately these guys are juniors as are lots of SFT guys, they will still make the run, just a year late.
I'm just glad that not many people are expecting Scott City to win it. They were at a weak regional and I consider them nothing but a Mulvane of the past. Mulvane used to qualify almost their entire team, but once state hit, they just couldn't make much of a run. I put Scott in that same boat this year. They just don't have the outstanding wrestlers to get it done.
where is the unofficial bracket at?
I guess I never expected SFT to finish so high at regionals and yet they do every year and then don't show well at state, so they aren't of much concern in my mind. Goodland definatly has momentium coming in, Columbus is certainly up there. Clay Center IF they wrestle well could finish pretty high so it should be a great tournament at state. Its either going to be really close betwen the teams, or one team is going to run away with it.
Go to the KSHSAA link. You will find it. I think it is as official as it gets. I did notice they have some Hoisington kids listed as Hoxie kids in 3A. I guess the HO abbv confused them.
"Its either going to be really close betwen the teams, or one team is going to run away with it."
I think that statement about sums it up!
I don't think that SFT has been out of the top 10 in state for like 6 or 7 years. I know that we weren't when i was in school and that wasn't long ago.
Hey oldtimer, the very first post on this topic says Kriegbaum the man noone will touch him. Well someone did at regionals. Cole Garcia 6-2!
Hey Kyle-- Actually the score was 4-2....And just wait until next week when Jake freakin tears him apart!!!!!!!!
Hey wrestlingfan_05---The score may have been 4-2 but the fact still remains, sick or not or whatever excuse Jake may have he still lost to Cole. It WAS a good match and next weekend we'll see who tears who apart!!!!!!!!!! And by the way, did anyone see the Salina Journal today????
Well according to the Abilene regional website the score was 6-2, which I think is correct.
So Cody's big sister got on here just to brag about him beating Jake? So next week when Jake beats him is it alright if I talk him up?
Im not goin to make excuses for jake but i will say that i have no dault in my mind that he will win his fourth title next weekend at state. Ive seen him just tear people apart real quaility kids to. Everyone has a bad match his happin to be a regionals im sure he'll take care of it at state.
Justwatchin_00: It has been a little less than 7 years since Trail has been out of the top ten. Try ONE year. Sante Fe Trail scored 42 points last year - 2003 - which placed them 14th overall.
wrestlingfan_05: Garcia beat Kriegbaum 6-2. He got a three count and received 2 back points in OT along with the takedown.
scott city will easily will loose at least 7 of their 13 guys in the first round
if colby's school gave a dam and tried to get them in the easy regional they could take 13 guys too
the only reason not 14 guys is that thier hwt. sucks
but he might get better even though he is only a fr.
There wasn't any excuse for Jake losing--someone has to win and someone has to lose and it was Jake's turn to lose but that isn't going to stop him for tearing him up next weekend. Hey Cole's BIG SIS, when Jake beats Cole next weekend I'll be sure to brag about him and make sure you know how bad he tore him up!
Why don't we give both Kriegbaum and Garcia credit for being outstanding wrestlers and then see how it plays out at state when it matters. True Champions get it done when it counts! Good luck to both!!!
Big d sorry to tell you but it takes two losses for someone to get knocked out of state.
I saw Colbys heavyweight at Abilene. How much did that guy weigh?
I watched Daniel Prater as a highschool wrestler, middle school, and kids wrestler. When he was a small boy it was evident that someday he would be great. Does no one remember the match he wrestled against Earl Jones last year? No one ever wrestled Earl that well, but I did not see Earl wrestle all that much either so my opinion may be skewed. I coached Daniel and his brother Ronald when I was a highschool wrestler at Pratt and he will, I hope, become a state champion. I believe that last one from Pratt was Beau Tillman and it is time we (the Greenbacks)have another.
Good Luck Daniel and all the Greenbacks!
Juco Brown
Colby's heavyweight is 196 pounds of pure muscle.
That must be short muscle tissue.
Hey Cole Big sis
Dont get your HOPES UP!!!!! Jake will PIN your little brother. (If cole can make it to the Finals)
Come on Lucas b baker. Whats your problem?? Cole beat a kid that hasnt been beat in 3 years. That is huge. Whether or not Cole beats him again this weekend Cole deserves credit for beating him. Quit talking trash on Cole.
we will see how good cole is this weekend. If he makes it !!!!!!!!
Ok Lucas, the way you say it, it is like Cole isn't going to make it to state because you put a hit on him. But I know that's not what you mean. I think Kriegbaum will win 130 this weekend. He is too good of a wrestler not to come back and win it. But Cole Garcia wrestled a very good match at regionals and it was probably the highlight of his young career so far when he beat Kreigbaum. You have to give him credit for beating a guy who hasn't lost in exactly 3 years.
Lucas why dont you think Cole will make it. He will have AJ Heckel in the semis and Cole won his bracket at Liberal, and AJ didnt place. I guess well see. By the way how are you gonna do at state???
Chewie
I am not putting a hit out on the kid I just hope he makes it to the finals I know that Jake will be there.
Kyle
I wrestled for abilene in 98 and 99 Placed third my senior year pinned everyone i wrestled on SAT!!
Jake was a little kid when i was in school i have watched him and alot of other wrestlers grow up i am proud that he is from Abilene. I hope that Jake pins this kid just to prove that he is the best. Abilene will have its first 4 timer in less than 48 hours Good luck Abilene i will be going to hays to watch my brother. I will be checking the net often.
TO EVERYONE:
Nothing is assured...assuming that Garcia is going to face some other guy in the semi is just that assuming.
Kriegbaum looked rough in his semi at regionals to a guy that didn't qualify, and kind of anemic in the finals, but bottom line he got beat and tossed to his back in the process.
Yeah i wrestled prater at hoisington in the finals this year..yeah that didn't take long at all..he's a stud
Abilene is looking great!!! number are were i think they will end up
Dawson 1st
Jake 1st
Ross 1st
Back side
rein 5 or 6th
Geske 3rd
peterson 3rd
GoodLand has 3 in the finals
119 2nd Dawson will get him

112
140
189
Columbus
Has 2 in the finals
103 he will loose to Fisher
135 I think prater will beat him
Back side
119 3rd place
125 Getting beat by geske
130 not a clue
145 not a clue
160 not a clue
171 i think switzer will win.
Lets see--- where to start--
Nigel-- Abilene #1 with 5 guys. SC no higher than 6th because all their guys from the mediocre Andale regional will go two and out---
dual records mean nothing at state---"weaklings who managed to slip into state"---mentions getting three or four points each out of "wrestlers that shouldn't have been there in the first place"----SC not able to stand up to Goodland and Columbus wrestlers in the back side-
also picks Goodland, Clay Center, or Columbus just in case the wheels fall off the big A wagon.
sounds like Saddam's propaganda minister.
Lucas Baker: predicts banner #3 on the wall.--
Just Watchin: SFT would win hands down with the 35 points that would be awarded to Connelly and Schmale for showing up. Sorry but you are 41 points back going into the final.
Lucas Baker, wrestlingfan05, nigel :
Kriegbaum will "tear Garcia apart" along with several taunts to Cole's sister, which were in my estimate uncalled for, I have no idea how that one turned out, but if he was injured in that match I hope the injuries were sufficient to satisfy you all.
Chewie: No problem for Abilene to win--
makes several predictions that are valid, one (Dawson) that is not, but it will take more than 105 pts. to win this year because SC had 13 chances to score points!!!!
Fanatic: Nigel you are crazy to dismiss Scott City (good advice)
Kyle W: Don't trash Garcia just because he beat JK at regionals (I totally agree-- Cole is a class guy that will take a win or loss graciously, and I wish him just as well as Jake)
well 'ol Nigel had said that he would avoid the egg on his face but from my vantage point it looks like he is wearing the whole chicken house!!!
Jake did it he beat cole 2-0
Congrats to abilene's only 4 timer
If they win it will be #4 on the wall
Here's how I see it
Jake won just like I said he would.
Ross won and did it in pretty convincing fashion, silencing all the rumors that some evil person started saying he was ducking Strawn at Baldwin. Took him straight to his back. I would have paid money to be in that conversation Tom and the coach from Holton were having (if you don't know what im talking about nevermind)
Tanner wrestled really well had 1 mental mistake and it cost him. But he still has two more years left so look for him next year.
Abilene has done everyone from town proud. Second place with 6 guys is really good. A few more wins by the backside guys and it might have been a different story. But fear not Abilene fans for they will return again next year with a good deal of points, plus at least 1 freshman who should make an immediate impact.
But the fact remains, Nigel-- a lot of good guys can bet a few great ones.
Nigel:
Back side wins by Geske and Peterson would not have overcome Scott City's lead.
The crushing blow was Blayze Bahe's fall over Dawson, and the inability of Kriegbaum and Taplin to win by fall. Had all three (3) of Abilene's finalists won by fall, Abilene would have won the team title by 1/2 point.
As you will recall, Strawn had Taplin on his back in the third period, and if not for the forgiving referee's was likely pinned. Taplin came out strong, dominating the first period and nearly coming up with the fall, and then stalled out the match, which nearly cost him.
Not nearly as convincing as you wish all to believe.
