The Olathe Duals are this Thursday with a number of good wrestlers. Who will win it?
The group from "Making the Band?" They suck!
olathe no(chance)rthwest has not a single chance to win
Where and what time will the duals start? What will be the most interesting matchups to see?
It's at East in the main gym at 4:30.

In Olathe
My bet is Olathe South or Olathe East. Olathe South should be competitive with three returning state medalists: Chino Elsrode(3rd), Conor Fitzgerald(5th), Shawn Dedrick(6th). Also they have a solid frosh in Almaguer. Olathe East, im not too familiar w/, but i know they have some good guys like Mark Schieber and Taylor Bauer. Both of which are ranked in state. If Carlson is back then that would be a huge boost also.
pups4ever:
i wanted directions, because i taught there might be some interesting matches
Actually the duals are now cancelled, because of the snow. SMNWres. I'll try to send you some directions. We'll probably have the duals some time next week. And Ben, thanks for the confidence, buddy. But really, in the past we have had teams that looked like nothing on paper against very solid OS tourney teams, but we have been able to pull it out. I'm hoping we'll be able to do it again this year.
hey mark are you guys going to all be healthy?
if you are i think your team will pull it out.
Actually, we really aren't healthy at all. But since the duals have been moved to Monday at 4:30 we might be a little closer to healthy than we would have been today. If we would have wrestled today, we would have been without Bartels (135) and Mitchell(135-140). Now when we wrestle on Monday there is a chance for those two to be back but I'm not sure about either one. Anyways, I think we could have won it (and have a good chance of still winning it) with the guys we would have put out there today. A lot of our guys get pins and that has been what decided a lot of other close duals with supposedly better OS teams.
And Carlson is back, too.
Lets cross our fingers and pray no more olathe east ragamuffins get injured this yr.
We (OE) won again, beating South 44-32, North 43-24, and Northwest 59-16. And again it came down to East and South.
OE OS results (E-S):
3:Carlson(E) wbf Hoffman (6-0)
12:Almaguer(S) wbf Puglisi (6-6)
19:Calipetro(S) wbf Miller (6-12)
25:Elsrode(S) wbf Binfet (6-18)
30:Reimer(S) wbf Fernandez (6-24)
35:Bartels(E) 5-0 Venkatsammy (9-24)
40:Dokos(E) wbf Nobert (15-24)
45:Metzger(E) wbf Buehler (21-24)
52:Schieber(E) 17-1 Reglin (26-24)
60:Fitzgerald(S) 8-0 Courtney (26-28)
71:Bird(E) open(S) (32-28)
89:Bauer(E) wbf White (38-28)
215:Jenkins(E) wbf Sweeney (44-28)
275:Smith(S) 8-0 Snyder (44-32)
Lots of close matches and crucial 3P pins.
O.E. always finds a way. As an O.S. person I have been involved in 7 years of O.E. finding a way to beat O.S. From the years of Chad Butler to the last (2) years when O.E. was supposed to lose but have had some kids show incredible guts and pull out victories. Hats of to the athletes and coaching staff.
yeah! thats great! why is bauer wrestling 189 he doesnt wrestle there normally does he? anyways, he would be a better replacement to that class than that one guy, Jenkins of course no one will ever truly replace last year's 189 wrestler. no but for real, congratulations guys I wish I could have gone but I didnt know when it was rescheduled for. I am trying to get back into the forum loop so keep looking
Speaking of which, whatever happened to Westerhaus? He wasn't that bad.
Actually nobody was speaking of Westerhaus. Dearest Shamus was talking about the incomparable Tterb Swehtam, one of the funniest wrestlers ever to grace the wrestling room at OE.
By the way though, Haus got hurt last year, and eventually realized that nobody really liked him all that much and quit. He's a nice guy and everything, but he smelled cheesy and made a lot of guys mad a lot of times. This year he was all state in football at LB(?) (but he played DE), and he was probably the most dominating defensive player in the Sunflower League. He's going to Kearney-Nebraska next year to play football.
And thank you Shamus.

Glow, Glow, Glow.
Enjoy the light while it last. You guys always beat south in duals, but they always end up in the top ten at state while you guys are 3,4 or 5 places or more behind. Duals are cool but state is great.
Maybe so but this year we got some contenders unlike years in the past. Hopefully we have some guys wrestling deep into the 2nd day. South has run dry of their DYERS and SIELERTS.
But hopefully 125, 160 will fill their holes. South's top ten showing always had a state champ so hopefully they won't break that trend this year.
Plus we can GLOW all we want because we've done our part in the Olathe Duals. Now we can brag about it for the rest of our lives. (laughing) 4 years straight we've kept the "city trophe" in the East side of Olathe. Doesn't mean alot to most but can't deny the bitter rivarly of EAST and SOUTH. Maybe we can't compete with teams like Manhattan or Garden City but we have our own little world here in Johnson County and we do just enough every year to beat South. Maybe in the past we haven't had the big guns like South to do as well in tournments but we found ways to beat'em in the dual, thats good enough.
I agree that you guys have some people who could really pull some surprises out at state, but dont sell Chino and Conner short, they are both Finals contenders and being a betting man I got money that says one or both of them goes all the way. Last year nobody thought they would get a champion, but they did.
I agree their both awesome wrestlers and I love cheering for Olathe wrestlers. I hope they both make it to the finals.
Yeah dude, I got crazy respect for both Conor and Chino, and I'm hoping that both of them win State.
And also, I'm not "glowing", I'm gloating, they are two different things. And the only reason I am gloating is because the city duals are not a big deal at all, it's just fun because we all know each other.
Bernie, change your profile so i can send you a private message.
Glowing is a term used for women when they sweat. And trust me, Bartels and Schieber glow a lot after a tough match.
Also, Bernie112, who r u? u seem to know quite a bit about os and oe. Are you a OS sympathiser?
One should dwell on the past when it is past. The present is but a gift, so enjoy the next two and a half weeks of hard core training and kick butt Saturdays. For the future holds the big show and what lines or part will you deliver come show time!
Glowing like rocknraider's hair and hardcore shoes last year. Oh yes and the finals singlet.
HAHA, yes indeed sir. I was a regular ray of sunshine out there on that mat. Many a man was blinded peering directly at my bright, ugly blond hair. I apologize for any retina damage.
