Are there any good clinics or tournaments coming up before the season starts? I'd like to see some of my kids get a jump on the season. I know of one in Allen, Texas with Mark Branch on the 23rd of October, but that's it.

Thanks,
Ryan

Granby System Wrestling will be holding a fall clinic at Eagan High School on Saturday, October 30th. This clinic is a great opportunity to get ready for fall season.

The day of training will include:

TAKEDOWNS: positioning, head control, set-ups, high crotch, singles, finishes, and takedown defense.

TOPWORK: top control, breakdowns, turks, cradles, and tilt series and more

BOTTOMWORK: Granby series (from all positions), and defending top man's rides to reversals and escapes.

SYSTEMATIC APPROACH: we will show you individual holds and put them together in a series that allows you to move smoothly from one attack to another. In other words, we give you a system of techniques that, when put together, gives you the ability to maintain an almost constant attack.

Teaching strategies and drills will be taught for all skills by Hall of Fame Coach Keith Lowrance. Coach Lowrance was a Granby State Champion, Two-time Big Ten Champion. He coached State Champion teams at Granby & Kempsville HS and was named Virginia and National Coach of the Year. He has a career record of 252-30-2 and coached 33 State Champions and 95 Place-winners with several High School and College All-Americans. Coach Lowrance also produced the nationally renowned Granby System Videos.

Coaches: Coach Lowrance will set aside time to meet with you to discuss coaching issues, including how to develop Championship level wrestlers.

Richard,

Thank you for the response. I don't know that I'll be going (KSHSAA rules??), but I doubt the boys will travel more than a state or two away. I really like the Texas clinic, because it will give the guys an idea of their style. We're going to Dallas in December to dual Bishop Lynch, Highland Park, Arlington Martin, The Colony, and Arlington Lamar.

Chase: Don't worry about the two pounds. You need to work that "Goodyear" off of your gut. Or is it a Cheese wheel?
