who is the best wrestler in the state this year, regardless of weight. Hemmerling? Strait? Gardner? Bogart? Kreigbaum? Pyle? who do you think? and how about a pre-season all-star team?
there is no way that hemmerling is the best wrestler in the state. i would give that title to either bogart or garcia.
Is Hemmerling going to wrestle in college?
I have never seen Jones wrestle. Our Coach who has seen and Coached lots of state champions saw him last spring and was very impressed with him. Very Impressed!!!
how about tanner gardner?
what about jacob strait or adam venegas
hemmerling is good enough to wrestle in college. i have never heard of or seen strait, where is he from?
Only a two-time defending state champion. If you have never heard of him, you don't follow Kansas wrestling too well. Huh!!!! Concordia
youve never heard of jake straight?
i've heard of "that concordia guy", i guess i jsut forgot his name.
I don't think you can count Venages because of his weak weight class
thats why venegas has beat a number of the so called big names in the state Ian Bork, Zach Hemmerling, Kevin Pulliam, those r just some of the names.
yeah venages is a stud he will be unstopable this year.
how about an all-class all-star team?
venages is the man he really put on a show in enid, as well as in fargo adam beat some kids that were pretty good i think if they put 123456a together he would still winin the grand stand hes good
Adam Venegas will win state again he has been lifting hard and has but on 20 pounds. H
The best wrestler in the state is Tanner Gardner. Then Bogart
Luke Zousas is a very solid wrestler also. L
i think most of you are in the upper classes and chose the big names there, but ive watched from 321a up to 456a and i believe the best "all around wrestler" is pyle. he is a tenacious wrestler who remains smooth on his feet as well as on the mat. i agree bogart is extremely good also, but i just beleive that pyle is just a better wrestler.
Fill me in with current weight projections for these and others...and then let's try that pre-season all star team!
if earl had two legs he wouldnt be half as good as he is
I do not think that Venegas is one of the best in the state. He had a very close and conterversal state finals match. Don't get me wrong he is a very good wrestler but I do think that he has peaked at the right time and had some what of any easy bracket.
i agree. if he had both legs, he would be around 145 or 150 maybe. at 125 or whatever, he just uses strength, he wouldnt be able to do so at a heavier weight.
Earl Jones won a State Championship when he was six.
Lost his leg at seven.
Then won a State Championship at Eight.
He would be a good wrestler whether he lost his leg or not!
I have seen many other kids with disabilities wrestling and none of them have done what
Earl has.
bogart, stu's really the all around best wrestler, he's got strength, speed, and very good skills, but tanner is also a great wrestler, these two lead the pack
ok you guys are sad, talking about earl not having both legs, that is a terrible thing and honestly i would bet he would give up all the state championships in the world for it back
CoachJT is right, Earl was winning state titles before the accident and would do the same with or without his leg at any weight class!! DP215(asuming you are in the 215lb. division) are about as yellow as they come and would probably still get whipped by Earl if he had no legs. If you are going to get on this message board and say something as assanine as that at least be man enough to put your name on it so everbody can ridicule you when the 125lb. one legged stud whips your butt!!!
i HAVE BEEN AROUND eARL FOR A LONG TIME. HE NEVER ASKED FOR SYMPATHY NOR HAS HE ASKED FOR ANY ADVANTAGES. hE IS A GREAT WRESTLER.... fOR SMS WRESTLERS TO BE ON THIS BOARD WITH THEIR DIALOGUE ABOUT EARL DISRESPECTS THE GREAT ACCOMPLISHMENTS HE HAS ACHIEVED.
AS WE ALL KNOW ANYONE CAN SAY ANYTHING, BUT IT IS A SHAME.
ROB BOGART
That has to be one of the dumbest things I have read. Hopefuly you regret that statement and wish you could have it back. If not please go to the DR> and get yourself snipped I would hate to see ignorance breed.
DP WRESTLER AND ASSA LAMA YAMA, YOU ARE BOTH
ENTITLED TO YOUR OPINIONS, BUT FACTS ARE FACTS.
I HAVE WATCHED EARL JONES FOR ABOUT SEVEN OR EIGHT
YEARS NOW AND HAVE YET TO SEE HIM LOSE A MATCH.
SAYING THAT IF HE HAD TWO LEGS, HE WOULDN'T BE AS
GOOD IS THE SAME AS SAYING THAT GARDENER ISN'T ANY
GOOD BECOUSE HE'S ONLY 119 LBS, OR BOGART IS ONLY GOOD BECAUSE HE ONLY WRESTLES IN 6A. IT'S RIDICULOUS. TRUTH IS, YOU ARE GUTLESS FOR WRITING SUCH A THING AND NOT SIGNING YOUR REAL NAME. IF THE TWO OF YOU HAD ONE BRAIN, YOU'D KEEP YOUR THOUGHTS TO YOUR SELVES, AND YOUR MOUTHS SHUT.
BECAUSE I'M PRETTY SURE IF EARL DIDN'T KICK YOUR
BUTT, THERE WOULD

BE PLENTY OF PEOPLE IN LINE BEHIND HIM TO DO SO!
earl jones is an awesome wrestler and for someone to say different is nuts!! and wouldnt u think if he did have both legs he would be just as good?? i bet you he would rather wrestle with two legs than one dont you? and look at all the accomplishments earl has done with just one leg! he is an awesome wrestler and he seems to be an awesome individual!! and i'm not trying to be disrespectful in any way but what did happen to earl in order for him to have just one leg??
I believe that the best wrestlers in 6A will be Stewart Bogart, Tanner Gardner, Ryan Parks, Adam Venegas, Dallas Browning, Hemerling and Dane Jordan.

I totally agree with you coach. It is not too often that a kid can bounce back from such a life changing event, such as his handicap, but Earl Jones has. When it comes right down to it Jones has taken his handicap, which in some cases would turn kids away from wrestling, and has turned it into his own wrestling style. Way to go Jones.

Get em Babyjay. I totally agree with you. GS
i take my previous statement back. i meant no disrespect at all. it just seems like he would have a major strength advantage over his opponents. thats all i was saying. congrats to earl on everything he has accomplished.
wow chief, i wasnt talking about not giving him credit about being an awesome wrestler, what i was saying was that you people make it a point to stress that he has only one leg, i see a great wrestler not a handicapped individual, and for your information i am good friends with another wrestler who has one leg from SMNW and i have known him since the 3rd grade. i have personally seen earl wrestle and i was very much impressed.
hey mr. bogart sorry if you mistook what i was saying, and i would not say anything in the manner that you precieved it as
Tracy,
Is Earl Jones planning on wrestling in College?
Is he planning on wrestling at the Senior Nationals at the end of the year in Cleveland, Ohio?
I would love to see him wrestle in both, Bahe & McReynolds did well last year at the Senior Nationals and neither would be able to beat Earl.
I think it would be great to see him wrestle in them.
Earl Jones and Stewart Bogart have wrestled in more state championship matches than most of you people have ever thought about wrestling in plus matches against other people. Bogart is a very tough wrestler but Earl still beat him every time that they wrestled. as lama whatever the hell he has a strength andvantage because he worked to get it that way. He also won nationals before he lost his leg. so i'm pretty sure that he would be pretty good if he did have two legs.
i didn't mean to offend anyone by saying what i had said earlier. I think earl is awesome and i admire him for all that stuff you guys had said, so i take back my previous statement I was an aware he was that good before the accident. Once again i apoligize.
What about Shawn Drennan from Minneapolis?
Coachjt
Earl has had a few calls from John Smith at OSU and our coach has been sending applications all over the country. As far as i know that is how he is planning to pay for his college if ya know what i mean. About the Senior nationals, i don't quite know if he is wrestling in that. He should but i don't know if he will. That would be an excellent way to get recognized. Earl has the potential to be a NCAA national champ and to go undefeated in college. I would love to watch him wrestle in both also.
