It appears as if Hofstra wrestlers (Patrovich and Rovelli) have defeated at least two Kansas guys. I extend my humblest apologies, and promise to beat both of them up when they return to Long Island.
Sincerely,

Good to see Shawn and Joe still winning on the frontside. I am not sure that before this match if Joe had ever won against one of the Paulson brothers. I could be wrong about that but anyway it is good to see him and Shawn having such great NCAA tournaments again.
I just read on the Iowa State site about the match with Joe and Paulson. It said that the top four seeds including Tirapelle No. 3 have all now lost on the frontside at 157.
Joe was 0-5 against Paulson until today! Joe Johnston is the man!
Iowa State website account "Top-seeded Trent Paulson had beaten Iowa's 2005 national runner-up Joe Johnston at 157 pounds twice this season, once in the finals at the Kaufman-Brand Open and in the December dual. Johnston struck early with a first period takedown but Paulson countered with a quick escape. Johnston chose neutral to begin the second period and scored another takedown. Trailing by two heading into the third period, Paulson chose down and escaped early to make it 4-3. Paulson took several shots but was fought off by the Hawkeye who capitalized for a takedown in the waning seconds of the match. The top four seeds at 157 pounds are gone from the championship bracket as third-seeded Alex Tirapelle fell to No. 11 seed Derek Zinck from Lehigh. Paulson faces Oregon State's Tony Hook as the Beaver eliminated second-seeded C.P. Schlatter of Minnesota."

Andy, there is going to be an opening for Iowa next year at 157 since this is Joe's last year. What do you think?
Luedke over Galloway (Northern Illinois)3-1!
Iowa website reports that Joe Johnston lost his semifinal match:
"Johnston was knocked to the wrestlebacks by fifth-seeded Ben Cherrington, who toppled the Hawkeye 8-3. He will face seventh-seeded Dustin Manotti of Cornell tomorrow, with the winner moving to the third-place match and the loser wrestling for fifth."
It appears that Chris Fleeger of Purdue defeated Shawn Bunch 9-2 in the semi-finals.
