Great job Joe!!! Hope to see you in KC doing the same thing in a few weeks.

Thanks for your comments. Joe really had Carver Hawkeye Arena rocking Friday night. 9,000+ screaming fans jumping up and down, hugging each other. It sure brought a big grin to his Mom and Dad's faces. I asked Joe what he was feeling at the end of the match, and he said "Pure Joy".
What a great event that had to be! Congratulations Joe!!!
I went to a double dual meet at SM North three or four years ago. My nephew was wrestling for SM North that year. Lawrence and SM East were the other teams. When I returned home, I told my wife that SM North had a couple of good wrestlers, but that this Johnston kid from SM East was a real good wrestler. Boy, Husker Fan, what a talent scout you are! I guess I should have alerted the Cornhusker wrestling program immediately.
I want to echo the congratulations that everyone else is giving to the Johnston family. I know all East Kansas especially the Johnson County area is very proud of what he is doing. And thank you for sharing Joe's reaction after the victory, John. I don't often let my sixth grade son on the forum, but I am going to have him read that. Wow, pinning a National Champion in front of all those people. What a victory!
Just found out that Joe was named the Big Ten Wrestler of the Week.
