Curtis came out of surgery okay. Still out of it, and in recovery when I left. In surgery for 2 1/2 hours, Dr. says he will likely have more pain in his hip than neck. Will be in a brace for a while, and a while before he can drive. Will be in at least a day possibly 2 days, won't know until tomorrow.

Will likely as of this posting time still be in recovery and not coming out of it for another couple of hours.

On my way to practice tonight and will be going by after practice again.

Just a quick update, Curtis decided it was best for him to stay one more night. He will definately be coming home tomorrow. It is going to be a long slow healing process but he will be back!! It was a cervical problem, you are correct. He didn't have much time to tell very many people, he basically got the surgery date a week ago and went with it....Thanks for all your prayers!

What happened exactly?

I think it was a result of that throw in the finals, and he screwed it up (not talking about the throw that Taplin did on him in the state finals either!) ;). I tend to believe that he got whiplash as some good looking lady walked by waving at him.

I'm back home. Thanks for those of you that kept me in your thoughts and prayers. This is an injury I sustained in practice in the middle of January. I hurt my neck and naturally kept wrestling on it the rest of the year. I got an MRI after season and found out I had a bulging disc. The disc was pushing on my nerves, and causing me problems with my arms (numbness, weakness, and sharp pains). I had 4 epideral shots between May and July, and none of them helped. The only other option was surgery and now I am where I'm at now. I'll be off the wrestling mat for a long year. Now I'll focus on my education and becoming a smarter wrestler as well as coach more often and make my comeback next year.
