Tim Elliot was named Outstanding Wrestler of the tournament after pinning the returning national champion. I think the score was 10-9 at the time...and they were hooking it up. It was a great match. The Baldridge and Jordan match was a barn burner too. Baldridge actually had back points counted and awarded for him...and then waved off. They both left everything out on the mat. Good stuff.
Congrats to all the Kansas boys!
Josh's loss put a bit of a downer on what otherwise was one of the the most perfect days in my life.Tim's first wrestling practice, 9 yrs. ago, was paired with Josh who beat hell out of him. Tim vowed to one day be able to compete with him. They've been practice partners since, with just the last couple of years Tim being competent enough to help Josh "get better" also. He's had several great coaches that have helped him but without 9 yrs.of Josh he doesn't AA, let alone win.
Awesome job by Tim and Josh! Congrats to both and those other Kansas boys that placed.
