It looked like a good first round of action. Elliott pinned his guy, Taplin won, Marrs T-falled the #5 guy in the first period with a bunch of tilts, Edison lost a close one. UNO has a webcast of the tourney
http://gomavs.unomaha.edu/wrestling/live_webcast.php They seem to be holding tight to the UNO guys and then following the UNK guys when UNO isn't wrestling. Elliott VS. Algood tonight. They will have the finals too. It's a good chance to watch good wrestling.

My format must not have been up to your standards for last nights team standings...so you removed and replaced with your version a day later? If your going to do that, get on the ball and give us results promptly. I've heard peoples opinion on you...you seem to be living up to what I have heard.
Elliott had a 16-2 dec in the back door. He can't do any worse than 6th...one more and he is in for 3rd and 4th.
Taplin in the finals
Garcia is in the finals
Missing several others...brackets can be linked from Upper Iowa Wrestling site.
The Kansas boys (at other schools) are looking tough...it's too bad we don't have an in state school that was more appealing to them.
It looks like Elliott suffered a loss by pin in the consolation semi-finals. He will be going for 5th and 6th this afternoon.
I see seven All-Americans from the state of Kansas! Congratulations to all of them...that's quite a crop. I may have even missed someone.
Think about all of that on one team here. That doesn't even consider the guys at other levels in the college ranks or guys with bad tournaments. I would like to see the All DII Kansas team score stacked up against Mankato. I realize that there is a percentage of guys who will always leave state to go to college for very justifiable reasons...but that is a lot of talent draining out of state. Tap into the states junior college talent to beef up the line-up and oh how nasty that team could be! It would be awesome to see that take shape. It would be interesting to see the reasoning most of the wrestlers gave for attending of state colleges (currently and historically).
Elliott finished with a strong 5th place tourney.

Also great Job to the entire Nebraska-Kearney team for winning the first DII Team National Title in School History.

Sure would have been nice to watch, but all of Kansas had to be at subs.

So, does that make TWO national title for Mr. Garcia? Does anyone know if he'd like to go D-I? Very cool.
Congrads to ALL Kansas placers and competitors!
