Next Saturday, 12/4 is the Bob Smith Open at FHSU. This was a pretty tough tournament last year. What Kansas schools will be represented? I know the UNO team will be there. UNO still has 5 Kansas natives plus 2 Oak Park,MO wrestlers.
I can't believe no one has anything to say about this Kansas tournament. This is one of the biggest college wrestling opens in Kansas with wrestlers from most of the Kansas schools plus Central Oklahoma, Air Force, Kearney,Lincoln plus my favorite UNO.
Will Jarrett Edison from UCO be wrestling? He was at the UCM Open, but did not wrestle at the Kaufman Brand.

My sources indicate that Jarrett will be there.

Great! I'm new to following the 197 weight class and I look forward to seeing the brackets.
I also saw this open on the schedules for Newman, Labette, Neosho and NWTC.
FHSU reports that updates will be made after each round at the following link:

Is there any radio or television coverage of the bob smith?
I don't know about radio or TV, but UNO usually does a webcast. Of course, they focus on matches with UNO wrestlers. I'll post the link to the webcast as soon as it is available.
For the UNO webcast on Saturday, go to this link:
http://omavs.com/index.aspx?path=wrestlingthen click on the TV icon on the right side of the page under events. Ft Hays Open is the 1st choice.
Northwest Tech will provide a direct link for coverage, or you can search for it on ustream.

Isenberg (FHSU) in the finals
Means (FHSU) in for 3rd/4th
Edison (UCO) in for 3rd/4th
Glenn (FHSU) in for 3rd/4th
So here is a great question in my opinion....The UNO HWT was the number 1 seed, so what has happened with Elijah Madison?
I don't know...he's still on their team and I presume still the starter.
Heard today from a UNO alum he's not down to weight yet.
Isenberg claims the title.
Means takes 3rd.
Edison takes 3rd.
Glenn takes 4th.
*Former Labette HWT Hohensee took the title for UNK.
Does anyone know the status of the wrestler who was injured and taken out on a stretcher? I don't know what team he was with. I hope that the medical precautions were just that - precautions and that he is ok.
Better yet, can anyone tell what happened during that match? I was officiating on the mat next to it, and I as well as several other officials were just curious and couldn't find an answer.

That doesn't sound like a typical UNO Championship problem, but I guess it happens. I am just glad to hear it isn't something negative (other than being chubby around the holliday season) keeping him off the mat.
Great backside OT match between Matt Baker and Jarrett Edison at 197! Congrats to both!
That was a great hard fought match! I hope they wrestle many times in the next couple of years.
