I'll be going down for the full day to the duals on Friday. I think Swayz and Nate are gong with me which leaves room for 3 more. Let me know if interested in going down and yelling for our Kansas Wrestlers. I'll be in court all morning again today and you can reach me late afternoon early evening at 316-841-5814 if you want to go down.

Good to see everyone, going back tomorrow it was so good. How often do we have a chance to see a Kansas team like this, and then they have a chance at taking a National Championship. The offer is still good and am willing to take people down tomorrow from Wichita area, will be leaving around 8:15 AM should be back by 8:00 PM at the latest.

Our 130 and 135lbers are pretty tough to beat also, and our 125lber has done pretty well at the freestlye duals for the last couple of years!!!

Granted, this years lineup for freestyle is "tougher than a 2-dollar steak" ("tougher than" is a new poll for the HS page). I've really been impressed with Colin Hase, the Cadet from Silver Lake, and his ability to score some points, DeShazer wrestled perhaps the smartest match I've seen him wrestle against Florida, Baldridge has been great at his weight but that run of guys from 145 - 215 is not matched by a lot of good teams.

Tomorrow we have Oklahoma 2, then Rhode Island, and then our toughest comp in the pool, Illinois! Then ??? But hopes are high!! The coaches are optimistic!! (okay, now whisper this) Maybe our best showing in a few years. A lot of credit has to go to our graduated seniors. A lot of years, we don't have the group of post-seniors like we have this year!!!

Its' fun being a fan!!! If you can ... get your fannies down here!!!!

  • The Cost of gasoline if riding with Furches - $0
  • The Cost of admission with a coaches card - $0
  • The Cost of Admission without a coaches card - $10 Adult, $5 Student
  • The Cost of a great meal at the Plainsman in Blackwell on the way back - $8
  • The Cost of seeing Kansas have a shot at a Junior National Title - Priceless

... but the price you have to pay for the "pleasure" of the company of Big Mike ??? Personally, I believe that is priceless too!

I don't know, I guess I'm just excited about the possibilities. I was awake at 5am, forced myself to stay in bed till 6 am, listened to the morning thunderstorms, and finally got up.

Yo Mike, where is the Plainsman in Blackwell, I might stop in on my way back North?

Blackwell exit, over next to McDonalds and the Gas station. Have taken many a patron by there and all have left abundantly satisfied, including the Swayz. Their sponsorship of the Little League Wrestling Tournament in Blackwell every year is how I found about it, home cooking on the buffet line, ummm good. Was eating there yesterday with the Swayz and who came up and started talking to me? None other than Luke Metzler who was on his way down to Texas for the 4th but decided to stop there and eat. He also gave it a 2 thumbs up on the chow. He told me to tell everyone on the Junior Team to kick .... well you can figure the rest of that out. It was actually kind of nice to introduce the Swayz to someone for a change.
