American Wrestling Supply Prevents Singlet Trade & Sales by Youngesters - 07/03/05 09:29 PM
It has been reported on the national forums that All - American Wrestling Supply, (a Company selling wrestling supplies), has prevented the trading or selling of singlets at the national events, including Kids Nationals and the upcoming Fargo tournament. I know that this is a common and staple part of the events for many of the kids. I am pasting here my comments on the national board as was a reply to Ted Witulski's comments there.
Ted not your fault here and you should have never been brought into it but have to say this, as far as American Wrestling Supply enforcing this part of their contract; they have just lost my business. Frankly, I have no issue with kids that even sell their singlets because for many of them it is how they earn some spending money while at this tournament. God forbid that a high school or younger kid have a little spending money, especially after their parents have had to dish out all of the money to get them there. The singlet trade, and yes, selling of singlets by some, is one of the traditions that the kids have that allow them to have some fun. Nothing like a large company doing their part to take the fun out of the sport for the kids. Nothing like me doing my part to not give that company any sales. By the way I think that each state should post that American Wrestling Supply is enforcing this component of their contract on their individual state web sites. Nothing like a little consumer pressure in my opinion. I will be writing a letter of this effect to American Wrestling Supply as well, if I can obtain their contact information.
