Our good buddy Jhris has now passed our dear friend Prant for fifth all-time in posting totals. Now, since I don't think Prant will ever catch up, I'm going to give this win to Jhris.

Prant 5 Jhris 4

Sadly, Jhris will never beat Prant in anything else because, like me, he's a 215 pound wrestler, and we suck at everything. Except for owning the forums. Which we do with ease.

Oh yeah, congratulations. It was in the topic but I never said it. You've made us all proud Jhris, or at least me.

Actually, this ties the series, 4-4.

Not if you count the win Prant received in the funnier forum member poll that ifeelfat set up.
Posted By: JhrisCennings Re: Congrats Jhris - 04/09/04 07:49 PM
That isn't over yet.
Posted By: LancerM Re: Congrats Jhris - 04/09/04 08:59 PM
True. Until the results are final I guess the series remains at 4-4. But going off of that logic then we shouldn't count your win here, making it 4-3. But who cares. I'm sure you'll tie it up somehow else. I have faith in you man.

I would win in bowling, that counts for at least 54. So now the series is 4-58, I win.

Yes, but I would win in Tecmo Super Bowl, which counts for eleventy billion. That makes the score
eleventybillionandfour-58.

And Jhris, Fatbat and I are having a squat-off tomorrow. I'm just going to enter you into that right now. Hope the knee gets better fast.

Done.

Do you guys have to squat below parallel? Our coaches make us and it tears apart your knees faster than anything I've ever done. In fact, I've dedicated my injured knees to good old John Reed, our weights coach. I would never have gotten here without him.

I've been squatting with "good old John Reed" for three years now, and I have never had any knee problems.

Squats aren't dangerous. You just have to be smart. Once your technique breaks down, it is too much weight.

Prant, how much weight will you folks be using in your contest?
Posted By: JhrisCennings Re: Congrats Jhris - 04/10/04 02:24 PM
A bajillion pounds.
Posted By: LancerM Re: Congrats Jhris - 04/10/04 03:24 PM
Well my technique broke down with the bar so I just gave up right there. Not all of us have dads that are personal trainers that can teach us how to squat. That is true though, if you have perfect form like Stephen your knees will be fine. However, if you're like most of the SME population, your knees are going down.

Could this be the same "good old John Reed" who was a football, wrestling and weight lifting coach at SMNW in the '70s? If so, I spent 3 years squatting with him also and my knees are in pretty good shape for someone in their 40s (and I still do deep squats). Could one of you guys ask him if he remembers "good old Jim Gaither" from SMNW class of '79? That was back in the days of Coach Johns, Coach Sev and Coach Urczyk at SMNW.

Yes, that's him. Like Stephen said, it's great if you have good technique to go below parallel, but I did not have the best of technique, no matter how hard I tried. It's not really Coach Reed's fault at all, I just dedicated my knees to him. In fact, Coach Reed is easily one of my two favorite coaches in the entire school. Here at East he truly is an icon.

Albright's squats didn't hurt my knees at all. On another note, my knee surgery was a success.
