Man, What a young man. I got a little upset when my son lost to a kid he beat twice this year. After the match I was walking the halls to cool off so I could talk to my son abuot what he did wrong. I saw a young boy about my sons age with no hands & one leg. I realized that a wrestling match was a very minor thing I was trying to make into a major thing. I saw the boy he wrestled just a few rows in front of us. I asked my son if he would go & shake his hand & tell him good match. He did & I was very proud. Somtimes I need storys like this to keep everthing in perspective. Our family has been blessed & one (or more) losses is not a big deal. God Bless & good luck to all at district & state
Great article and puts all in perspective.

This season has been quite a change my family and I with the birth of my 5mth old son Kane.

His brother Gage is having a wonderful senior year. We are excited for him as he will take the next step and be wrestling in college next year.

Kane was born with noonan's syndrome and will have some physical challenges to overcome throughout his life. His situation has made my wife and I truly appreciate the journey that wrestling has taken us on as a family. Medals, titles and winning are all good and fun things. However it is truly the opportunity to be able to be healthy enough to compete and participate and enjoy our sons and daughters where we are blessed.

I hope in Kane's future there are teachers, coaches and people open to providing opportunities for kids and adults with challenges. There is so much to be gained.

It is either strange coinceidence or ur talking about Noah, the boy with no hands and one leg. He wrestles with our Jr. Vikings club, its his first year. He is in the same class at school as my son and one of our other 8u wrestlers. He doesn't have his hands or leg, but i have to say he is not "missing" them. He is an amazing kid and I enjoy his go after it attitude. Just the flip side of the first story in this thread, Noah won his wrestling debut match in Manhattan this yr. If any of you out there have wrestlers at 8u55 and they come up against Noah, be sure to tell them not to take it easy on him cause he won't be taking it easy on them
