We still have room for more on the bus to go to Michigan for the National tourney. This is the largest women's/ girl's tournament that we know of at this time. There will be 700 girls, at least, at this tourney. We have the famous Cheryl Myers as one of our coaches and we are very excited about this tournament and trip. It is just $200 for the bus, hotel, 3 meals, t shirt, shorts and entry. If you want to go, call me at 316-721-5122or email me at kansaskrusaders@yahoo.com ASAP. The cut off for bus and hotel is now, but I don'te ant to turn anyone away. Please consider this wonderful opportunity. A mailer was sent out to every girls with a KS USAW card this year or in recent years. I you have not received our newsletter and tourney info please contack me at the above options and I will get one out to you ASAP.

The Michigan trip in on District Weekend. I know this will keep some from going but if you are available, please consider it. Parents and family are allowed on the bus. We leave on Thursday night, 3/17/05, better wear green. and will return during the day on Monday, 3/21/05.

Good luck to all the wrestlers going to the USGWA Nationals in Michigan. This is a large women's event and we wish you the best. There will be plenty of competitors (over 700 estimated) and many college coaches looking for future recruits. Wrestle hard and have fun.

I have heard your Coach Ed and the girls in Michigan and they had a good day. After some sickness and a car accident, we have ended up with 6 girls continuing on to the next day. They are all in the semi finals. Regina Ward, Tayler Frederiksen, Beth Johnson, Karissa Avallone, Mallory Thurman and Breanna Kanak. Tina Karol had an MVA and could not finish the trip, but they ar all fine-her car is not so fine. Sara Hilyard went 2-2 but had a hard loss that really upset the coachand his wrestler. We also had two other girls that participated--Emma Mercer and Vere Sigl.

All in all, it was a good day. I will report tomorrow how we come out overall.

Ok, Coach Ed and the girls are on their way back to the Sunflower State. We will return with a National Champion -- Breanna Kanak. Mallory Thurman is a National Runner Up. Karissa Avallone took 4th and is an All American. Tayler Frederiksen took 5th and is an All American, again. Beth Johnson took 5th and is an All American, again. Regina Ward took 12th. All in all, a great showing for KS!. They have a long way home but should return on Monday afternoon. Be sure and Congratulate these 6 All American's.

I just wanted to congrdulate all the young women that had the courage to compete in this tournament, the competition was like nothing I have ever seen before in a all female tournament. This was truly the best of the best in women’s wrestling.
It was an honor to be able to watch all of the young women from Kansas and I was even more honored to get the chance to coach some of them.
Beth, Emma, Sara, Veri, Regina and Tayler you have all made a positive impact on Karissa and she thinks you are all awesome wrestlers and can’t wait to see you wrestle again. I am sure she will follow your wrestling careers.
Ed and Jenni, thank you for the opportunity to go on this trip and the opportunity to compete with the Krusaders.
Tony and Karissa Avallone
