I am the camp director for Outdoor Challenge Camps. I have been considering offering an all-girl wrestling camp with the same format as our other camps. These include not only excellent technique and live wrestling opportunities but Outdoor Challenge activities as well. These include; an obstacle course, orienteering course, sand volleyball, paintball tournament and a float trip down a "Wild and Scenic River".

You can see my post on the Kids Forum and High School Forum about the camps we are offering this summer. I also have a link for our web site on that post. Look for the post "Looking for a Great summer camp?"

I have already talked with the coach at MV College and staff at the Olympic Training Center about the availability of clinicians. I would just be interested in some feedback from the Women's Wrestling Community about how much interest there might be in a camp. It is probably already too late for a camp this summer, given trying to get the information out, but I would like to begin planning for next year if nothing else.

To get an idea of our camp offerings you can visit our web site at: www.outdoorchallengecamps.com You can also post some feedback there through an e-mail or use the contact information on our site.

""You don't have to be great to start, but you have to start to be great"

If you can direct me to other web sites or chat forums to get more input I would really appreciate it.

Thanks!
Just checked on Kids and High School forums and post is titled Outdoor Challenge Camps. Sorry for any confusion.

Hello How much wrestling hours would be actually given through out the camp?? How long would the camp be?
Much of this information is on our camp web site. Since we are talking about a POTENTIAL camp here, I want to keep it nearly the same format as my others. They are a 5-1/2 day camp for the intensive camp and 4-1/2 day for the youth development.

We offer nearly 40 hrs. of wrestling (5-1/2 day camp), or training activities that directly relate to skills, competition and conditioning drills that directly relate to wrestling.

Since there doesn't seem to be a very great offering of all-girls camps, I would want to keep one of these camp lengths simply because we may be drawing from a larger geographic radius. To warrant driving a considerable distance I would assume most people would be interested in a camp of at least this length rather than just 2 days.

Hope that answers your question and I appreciate your input.
