Revelle named Outstanding Wrestler at Body Bar FILA Cadet Nationals

COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. – Krista Revelle of Kansas captured the 65 kg/143 lbs. weight class and was named Outstanding Wrestler at the Body Bar FILA Cadet Women’s National Championships at the U.S. Olympic Training Center.

Revelle defeated returning champion Ashley Mathews of California (SD Hot Beaches) in her pool competition, 6-0, 6-3. In the gold-medal finals, Revelle stopped Julia Salata by a 3-1, 3-0 margin.

It was the second USA Wrestling national event that she won the Outstanding Wrestler award this season after receiving the top honor at USA Wrestling’s PreSeason Folkstyle Nationals this fall.

“I wrestled my hardest. I feel I did good,” said Revelle. “I always can improve. I came here to win.”

Revelle was a champion at Body Bar Nationals last year in the 7-8 grade division. She is a 15-year-old freshman at Jeff West High School in Meriden, Kansas, and will be eligible for this division again next year.
