I heard the other day that UTC picked Joe Seay as their new head coach. UTC started climbing the mountain after they got rid of Coach Lein and hired Terry Brands. Brands has went to the Olympic Training Center to coach which left the spot open. Am I correct is saying the Coach Seay is formerly of Wellington, KS. Another reason we are missing out in KS with D 1. Our great coaches have to go somewhere else to coach D-1.
Let me know if I have made a mistake in here.

After writing, I decided to do some research. Here is the link to an article I found. http://www.themat.com/pressbox/pressdetail.asp?aid=12385

This is a great move for UTC and I believe will pay long-term dividens. I also believe that Coach Seay will work hard at recruiting some of our Kansas Kids. Chattanooga is a beautiful place and not far from Atlanta.

Chat town is an awesome place.... if anyone from KS is considering going there, I highly recommend it!

Be even nicer if he brings UTC back to Kansas to dual FHSU or Newman for the sake of a homecomming.

Swayz, that would be great. Church I am originally from Tennessee and still love it. Still have a lot of family back there. For those that have heard me speak you know why I sound the way I do now. By the way, have also been a big fan of the Southern Conference for years, by the way, the oldest conference in the United States. Swayz, a dual close to home would be something to work on and I believe an effort to wrestle someone here would be a natural, especially with them usually wrestling in the area, Iowa, Oklahoma, Nebraska, Missour, etc., anyway. By the way, does anyone know how UTC finished last year off the top of their head?

UTC won its 20th Southern Conference Championship and placed 21st at the NCAA Championships, the program’s highest finish since 1983. UTC had two wrestlers attain All-American status this season, Michael Keefe and Jon Sioredas, the first honors for UTC since 1992.

Added bonus: Any Kansas wrestler who attends UTC can hang out with my Aunt and Uncle in the Nooge. I have two cousins who graduated from the fine institution of UTC.
Perhaps they're looking to recruit someone to help boost spelling scores...

Daniel F. Peterson from Pittsburg High School and Labette Community College completed his Junior season wrestling for the Mocs.
Daniel wrestled this past season at both 174 lbs. and 165 lbs., compiling a 17 win and 8 loss record.

I think we could bring 2 teams into Kansas for a neutral site meeting place and would pit 2 teams that wouldn't normally see each other unless it was at Nationals, Las Vegas, or Midlands. I think bringing in a UTC team coached by Joe Seay would be fun to get against a Montana State Northern team coached by David Ray a 3x Kansas Champion (finished 3rd as a freshman).
Then have another match before it or something featuring one of the KS Jucos against NW Wyoming coached by former Kansas standout Jimmy Zeigler.
Maybe make it an all day individual duals event and have a few more duals like Newman v. Colby and FHSU v. Labette or something along those lines.

I think that if funding allowed, that Joe would love to come back home to this area. I know I tried to find a place to have him come in last year but couldn't get it worked out. Joe still thinks highly of Kansas and would love the chance to come, "home" if given the opportunity.

I know UTC usually duals Oklahoma State (or they did) maybe we can get UTC on a road swing up here or something?

I don't know about the possiblity of UTC dueling FHSU. Lower tier D1 schools don't have much to gain putting it on the line with a good D2 school. As far as the Northwest Wyoming vs. Labette duel, something is in the works for early December in Hays. I don't think it is final, but they are trying to work out a duel before the Hays Tourney. Lets hope this comes together.

I think UTC would do fine with FHSU...they have some talent that would match up well with Hays.

Texas may not be Kansas but UTC is coming to the Lone Star Duals and FHSU could be added to the line up. Newman is also scheduled to be at the Duals this year. It's my understanding Labette has been invited but we're still waiting to hear from them.

Sweet! I want to get down to the Lone Star Duals one of these years. I assume UCO will be back?

The Lone Star Duels are great. I used to go to them over the holidays at Grapevine South I think. I watched Cael Sanderson set the record for most wins there (I think). It didn't really have a lot of college fans there, but it was great action on the mat. I would like to see all of the Kansas School get in on it. It would be nice to see a good KS fan turnout. Texas is heating up in the High School ranks, it would leave a good impression of Kansas college wrestling come recruiting time.

I think its great that coach Seay got the job even though its a team that we will wrestle. I can't wait to shake his hand and tell him that kansas is the best place for wrestling. I really hope that he will take his team to kansas to wrestle FHSU that would be great for the state. Hopefully it will put an IDEA into KU or KSU about adding a program.

The Lone Star Duals are actually held at South Grand Prairie. Yes, UCO will be back this year.
It would be great if the infamous Swayz came to the Duals.

It would be great if the infamous Swayz came to the Duals. See what I can do. I've been given some offers to coach and need money and medical benefits a.s.a.p! Would love to come down there for that.
