Is either team planning on hosting any tournaments this year? It's my understanding UT-Arlington plans on on hosting an open tournament, TX Tech plans on hosting a dual tournament and Colorado is hosting an open as well as the conference tournament.

Last year there was talk of either KU or KSU wrestling before a Missouri match, is there anything like that in the works?

We would love to do something at KU, we had the opportunity last year for a pre-season meet, logistically with the rec services dept. they just are not up on the time frame that it takes to run a tournament. We freaked them out with the triangular meet last year.

I could see us doing something "off-campus" with the support of the usawks family, say at an STA or area high school venue. What would be fun is to combine something with the "fall brawl" to kick things off,,,,,

I agree.. In front of a big time tournament or Dual between Kansas High Schools have that dual kick off. See some good wrestlers from the state of kansas go at it...I know we wrestled at Pratt High School against Colorado...I know we tried to get KU goin this year a couple times..and Ku didn't show for the end of hte year dual. so who knows hopefully this year

We are starting the groundwork for expandeding things at KU. It is my hope to pull things together very soon for that.

Shane Miller moved on to be a counselor and high school assistant at Norton. We have a couple leads on some longtime Kansas wrestling people to help out and we will be in good hands with our student officers returning.

I was trying to get the KU v. KSU clubs to dual before Mo v Stanford (both of those DI teams have Kansas connections) and thought we could really pack the house, but it fell through. I know NW Missouri State said they will gladly dual someone, I'm sure if either club wants to wrestle before a DI, DII or any other dual it can be worked out, heck if they want to they could dual one of those teams as well. Lots of club teams dual "actual teams" throughout the year.
