The long awaited return of one of Kansas's all time favorite's is finally here. The Swayz will lace up the shoes one more time this Saturday at the FHSU Open and looks to light the place up. If you're in the area, come support him and cheer him on!

Good to hear.... I presume you are not mat ready yet are you Curtis? I will finally get to wrestle since my knee problems. What weight is Swayz? 285?

Oh by the way Alex we are staying at your house! LOL.
As for the weight pull...I weighed 292, and have slowly but surely being dropping weight to get back onto the mat. I weighed in the other day at 245, which will be the heaviest I ever been for a competition.
As for lighting the place up, I don't know if that is fancy city talk for counting the lights (I'm good at that...3-20 college record), but I plan on doing my best.
I just hope I'm not so wound up for the first match that I get smooshed...I figure my goal is to at least make it the full time on my 2 (or more if I happen to win) matches. If I lose...oh well, but I want to go out there and just get the nerves out and do my best, heck maybe I can pretend the first guy out of the shoot is cancer and I'll be the chemotherapy...
All joking aside, I will be filled with tons of emotion as this will be the first time on the mats competing in several years. I always said my goal in beating cancer was to return to the mats to compete...and now my time has come this weekend in home sweet Kansas.
Hope to see you there, and if not...several people such as Curtis and myself will have our cells on to update you later.

I feel sorry for his first opponent at the FHSU tourney. Swayz, keep your head up, back straight, butt in and knees off the mat. You have the entire Kansas wrestling community rooting for you, except the parents of the guy you'll be wrestling!

The return was premature, far from immenent... no but Swayz I must commend you on your performance in the tournament.
Aaron lost in the first round by a 5-2 decision to the HWT. from Newman. He was then pinned in his next match by a kid from Adams State I believe.
After the first match Aaron basically collapsed on the mat from giving it all. It's hard to go from not doing anything to wrestling a full match in college. I must applaud this effort. It was so bad we had to literally help him off the mat, but like a true wrestler he never gave up until the end.
All serious things aside, I did manage to win 0 matches and lose 2 matches on the day.... so hey I still have a perfect record in college! Aaron on the other hand moves to 3-22.

* not technically in college anymore but against college competition yes I'm 3-22 now.
I just want to thank everyone for their support of me on the day...it was overwhelming to have people that I consider amazing wrestlers from our state come and watch my matches (all 2 of them) and even some parents that have come to know me from here or in person (too many to name).
Thanks for all the support, and I think it's time to take a horse tranquilizer because I'm sore! GOODNIGHT FROM RUSSELL.
