The Kansas Wizzers will be making preparations and starting practice for Kids State, Brute and beyond this week. We will again be practicing in Wichita at Church of the Cross, across from Kansas Newman, on the North side of Kellogg. Practice will run from 5:45 - 7:45 on Tuesday and Thursday starting Feb, 27. We encourage all wrestlers to also practice with kids clubs if they are a part of one. We are a District 2 club and will be delivering entries for Sub Districts on Tuesday. We need entry, USA card, and weight prior no later than Monday evening, Feb. 26th. Wrestlers will also be required to have a USA card and those will be available on Tuesday at practice. Wrestlers not wrestling Kids State but are wrestling Brute and wanting extra quality practice times are also invited to be a part of the club. Remember, we only accept Middle School and High School Wrestlers.
In the past the HS division at Kids state has been down in their numbers, we encourage all of those HS wrestlers to participate in Kids state that are eligible. This year, team fees also apply which include a Wizzers T-Shirt, we will also have high level, intense practices, along with various college wrestlers and various HS coaches giving instruction. This year, why just wrestle Brute, if you also have a USA club where you can wrestle Kids State. There will also be scholarships available for Wizzers that participate in either summer or national level tournaments in the preseason.

I have had several emails today asking about HS wrestlers practicing with the team, while also being a part of their kids club. Those wrestlers will need to check with their own kids clubs regarding their policy. We certainly welcome all wrestlers, although there will be some paperwork to fill out. We also encourage wrestlers with long standing traditions with their kids club to wrestle state with their particular kids program clubs. As a part of our philosophy is for the wrestlers to be a part of the club to give back to the kids programs. We also recognize though the benefit of being in a room with only HS kids and the requirements and type of practices we go through. Hope this clarifies some of the questions, as far as we are concerned, you can be a part of the wizzers and kids club, if not a part of a kids program, and wanting to wrestle kids state, you can also do that with the wizzers but I will need information by tomorrow night, at practice at the latest.
Just as was the case last year, a number of wrestlers participated with the Wizzers to prepare for Kids state, Senior Nationals, and Brute, that is our hope again this year but we have more in store, be at the practice or email for more information.
