I just got off the phone call with Mel Miller regarding his son Michael. Michael was in a very serious car accident early this afternoon and is presently in St. Francis Hospital in critical condition. He is unconscious and the family does not know the seriousness as of yet. Mel has requested that I post this and that we all keep Michael and the family in prayer during this tough time.

Thanks everyone, I just got home from the hospital to clean up. The nurses made us all leave until 8:30. Michael is in Critical condition he has a broken left foot, broken knee, 1 cracked verdabray in his neck. In addition to all that he had a head injury that required imediate surgery that took 2 hours and I believe over 100 stitches. Right now he is stable and sleeping I will try and keep you up to date.
Thanks again,

good evening Michael has been upgraded to serious from critical. A bone specialist said today that he needs at least 1 more surgery sometime this week. He is still in alot of pain but that is understandable. I know its been on the news alot but I want to tell everyone what happened. A blue truck actually pulled out in front of Michael and he tried turn out of the way instead of hitting him. At that point Michael hit another car coming from the other direction. The impact was so bad that his car went end over end somewhere between 4-5 times. Michael was wearing his seatbelt in which saved his life. From impact to stop was approximately 310 feet. He has a very long road to recovery but he wont give up. I think the hardest part for him is doing nothing especially since he is always on the go. Michael is at St Francis in Wichita room 5162 and they say he will propably be there at least 1 week. I will try to update you on my sons recovery as much as possible.

Today was a good day for Michael, he was told that everything was healing pretty well and that he would not need to have the surgery on his leg. He was told that he would be on cruthes or have to use a walker for 6-10 weeks this eveing, and that he has to keep his neck brace on for up to 6-8 weeks. After further review of his second CT Scan he has a fracture in his C4 and it causes him alot of pain. If I could only get him to understand that it is very pertinent to wear that brace all the time. He was able to go in to the bathroom today with the PT poeple but that turned out not such a good deal. He seen all the stitches in his head and became very down and out. we tried to get him to wait but he did not want to. If he starts eating solid foods he could possibly go home this weekend or earlier. He has pushed himself a little extra by doing more because he wants to be home. The swelling has come down extremely and he looks alot better. sorry for the choppy sentences, I am very tired as I have been up there all day all night with very little sleep. Thanks for all the prayers.

Great news! Michael was released today. Hes still not completely in the clear. He has to keep wearing the neck brace 24-7 and if he twist, tilt, or move his neck before its healed he could at the minimum have to have surgery to the worse of fracturing all the way to paralasis. I just pray that he listened to the neoro surgeon and staff on the detailled instructions. He also might need to have the lower left leg operated on but we wont know until next week. He has future appointment with plastic surgery, orthopedics, and neuro. Thanks for all the prayers. I think he is actually just glad to be home. I am just hoping that he he will stop being so cranky, and irritable, but he is a teenager. Now, as for his future in wrestling, he has decided that since he would not be able to participate this year, he is going to hang up his shoes. He did say he would like to help out in the wrestling room somewhere. Well I better go tend to him he is wanting popcorn.
