I am planning on attending the Salina rules meeting. I was wondering if someone had a basic timetable for when everything is. Prior commitments may limit my time to be there.

If you're attending to become a certified referee, you should get there earlier to fill out the paperwork and pay your fees, to get you books and test from Bowden.

Yes but you still have to be HS certified.

Allow me to elaborate...

Kids certification requires you to be KSHSAA/NFHS certified. So you'll need to register with the KSHSAA. Requirements to be KSHSAA certified are: attend the rules meeting and score a 90% or higher on the test. Kids will hold their own rules meeting immediately following the KSHSAA rules meeting and I believe it's a $5 fee to get kids certified.

So in short, to be kids certified, you have to be KSHSAA certified as well.

We have club coaches wanting to attend the rules meeting for their own education who do not plan on becoming an official. What is the cost if you don't take the test or need the manual?

There is no cost to simply attend the rules meeting. I would recommend it for all coaches - it's a great way to keep informed on rules changes as well as those areas that are coming under special scrutiny.
