I'd say Clay Center is the safe pick, but Chanute should have a strong showing with their returning light weights.

Clay Center will be back next year without a doubt. But I think Concordia in a couple of years will be really strong. I was really impressed with their junior high kids - many of which will be freshman next year.

Colby, Goodland, and Andale will compete as always.
Agree on the Chanute call, good young wrestlers and a good coaching staff. Clay Center does have a great program.
Each team will find a way to rise to the top.

According to my calculations, the top 5 teams with the most returning points from the State Tourney are:

Clay Center 92
Andover Central 59.5
Colby 53
Chanute 51
Andale 43

This of course doesn't account for incoming freshmen, solid JV kids that were behind studs and will place next year given the opportunity, move-ins, and the vast improvements kids will make over the spring, summer, and fall. What this does show is how hard it will be to run down Clay Center.

Where is Mendenhall at kids state qualifiers this year? Older Bro-you were talking him up big and he was a no show as far as I can tell.

Andale will be loaded at the lower weights next year with many good talented wrestlers. Only studs lost are Thoman and Stroot with many returning and others coming in.

Did Mendenhall wrestle at subs or districts? Didn't see him at state.

Brian, I talked to one of the Concordia coaches and he told me that Taylor decided not to go out this year.
