I enjoyed watching the finals, in their entirety on ESPN Saturday night. With the exception of a few obvious flubs by the secondary announcer, I thought the coverage was excellent. It certainly beats the days of CBS and other networks broadcast delaying the finals and cutting out portions of or complete matches altogether.

It would have been nice to see Tannenbaum beat Perry. Anytime D1 wrestlers scream like that on TV, it just sucks for the sport. If the hold is breaking your leg or ankle, then give up the 2. It especially sucked to see guys faking injuries in the championships, like Jaggers did. Watch it again, you'll see him smile at Mendes while he's taking injury time. He said Mendes broke his ankle, and then just wrestled as if nothing happened. 149 was awesome, though. Dustin Schlatter looked as if he could be a 4X champ back when he was a freshman. But, he took 7th. Metcalf has way too much solid offense for anybody (at this point anyway).

Does he really look like he is faking?

Jaggers and Perry were both legitamatly hurt. Keep in mind that Perry had just had surgery on that knee a few weeks ago and if you look at the picture of Jaggers' ankle, you can't question it. I'll grant you, college wrestlers take a lot more advantage of injury time than high schoolers, but those two were hurt and really sucked it up to win.
You just kinda wasted my precious time But don't think twice, it's all right Bob Dylan, 1963

Five Kansans participated. All did well. Senior Tanner Gardner of Stanford and Shawnee Heights HS placed 5th, his highest AA place. He ended as a 3x All-American.
Others qualifying for nationals were: Jake Kriegbaum, Abilene HS/Air Force Academy Josh Baldridge, Campus HS/Northern Iowa Tyler McCormick, Blue Valley North HS/Univ. of Missouri Jesse Strawn, Holton HS/Old Dominion Univ.

nice job for the kansas boys. now lets see if we can get a wrestling program within the state in which those guys can wrestle locally. i do not want my kid going to missouri to wrestle.

In terms of Perry and Jaggers, I do know Perry had knee surgery, but I thought acting, screaming, and flailing were for basketball. We've all seen major injuries before (or had major injuries); I don't think I've ever seen screaming like that, though. Major injuries happen in every sport, of course. You watch the ESPN preview about the values that started this country are still on display in wrestling, and then you see the wrestlers abusing injury time. Why don't they call it hurt time instead of injury time. I will say that Bubba Jenkins did a great job, though. He could've taken injury time as he was obviously hurt, but he didn't. He kept wrestling.
Good job to the KS wrestlers for representing us well.
