This may have been answered in other posts, but can anyone report the official word about whether Wichita is being considered for State in upcoming years? According the the SG county web site, viewed today, the Arena will open in January 2010.
What is the current agreement with Topeka? When does it expire? Has there been any contact between the Arena and Kansas Kids? Has any other group booked the last weekend in March each year at the new Arena?
A thread last year discussed the merits of various cities in Kansas. I think Wichita and the new Arena should receive strong consideration.

Topeka and the Expocentre are in the last year of a 3-year contract. At the time they won the proposal, bids were presented from Topeka, Wichita and Hays; as I recall. Topeka won.
Several sites either have or will be sent bid requests for the 2010 State tournament. They will be presented at the Executive Board meeting of USAW Kansas Kids for their review. That will take place in the Fall of 2009.
As you might imagine, several factors enter in to the decision. But what it boils down to is a vote!

Is this meeting open to the public, clubs, or coaches? Is an open forum of input accepted before a vote is made?

This will be a question that Richard Salyer can answer definitively.
Your Executive Board is made up of your chosen District and State leaders. The last proposal was discussed at length before the vote. Clearly those, are the people you need to lobby!!
