I thought I would give a few thoughts and word of encouragement to our wrestlers, coaches, and clubs. Now is the time to be promoting our Freestyle/Greco teams. Last year my son got to participate and I must say it was among the most enjoyable experiences he has ever had in wrestling. Our Kansas wrestlers have an opportunity to show the nation what Kansas Wrestling is all about. I know that many, Disney, Knox, Garcia, Peterson and numerous others are working at putting together the best teams possible for our state. From Schoolboy to Juniors, our wrestlers will have the chance to compete against the best Olympic Style wrestlers in America this summer. Wrestlers, don’t look lightly on the opportunity you have to represent our state. Work hard, train hard, and start now getting to your optimal condition and weight. Put in the extra work to stay strong and conditioned. Between now and the end of July, we are entering what I have found to be the most exciting time of year for wrestlers. Let’s work hard to field quality teams and truly represent our great state like no other time in the past. Don't know about the rest of you but I personally get tired of Kansas getting no respect when it comes to wrestling, let's make a point to this year prove our quality on the mat.

I add my vote to what Coach Furches has to say. This truly is my favorite season for wrestling!

Are you making a POSITIVE difference in the life of kids?

We've got about 50 in the room, give or take. The bug is alive and well in Topeka. I think our kids are figuring it out up here. FS/GR is where it's at.

We are doing great as well at NW High School in Wichita. We have 60+ that have actually signed up and paid and I am sure a few straglers. Gibby, I hear you even have some of our HS girls in the room. They are really excited and will be going to Fargo, so help them out. Thanks for the support. I am so excited, this is our first weekend to compete at the tourney in Andover. Come on everyone, let's come out and make this a great tourney. And don't forget our tourney in Wichita on 5/14/05. We will have open, women's and maybe some old timers, in addition to all the groups from bantam to Senior's. We even heard from Mo Valley and some of there women's and men's team are going to try to make the trip too.

Go FS/GR!!!!!!!!!!!

We've got two gals. One from Topeka High and the other from Washburn Rural. The TH gal is a senior and wanted to give it a try. The WR gal has been in folkstyle for a year (?) and is coming on strong. She understands the opportunities that are present and I'm looking forward to seeing what happens.
