Just west of Piedmont the Brawlers held their annual year end picnic this weekend. Activities included: Fishing, target shooting, horse shoe tossing, eating, drinking and telling tales. This year's picnic was highlighted by a rat hunt. That's right. The secret to the toughness of the Brawler wrestlers is that their dads make them burn brush piles and chase down rats. I didn't see a one of these kids back down to the biggest baddest packrats you have ever seen! They were clubbing them, stomping them, grabbing, and I think I even saw one kid bite the head off a small one! Elk County's rat population took a hit today as they eradicated a couple dozen friends of Ben. Back to the cabin for a little rest and we will see what they come up with tonight.

Boone and Crockett would mean firearms were used. Pope and Young for archers. Is there a book for "clubbing and stomping"? There were some biguns running around. We should have kept them for a photo opportunity! The burnt hair wasn't very pretty though!

I do want to thank Doug and Dal for their hospitality. The food was great and the stories were even better. They have a nice pond too but I think there must only be about a dozen or so fish in it because I couldn't coax any onto my hook!

Thanks for inviting the Cokeleys!

Knew those Brawler athletes were full of venom....little further north they have "k-rats"....kangaroo rats that actually jump instead of run...and then the fun begins.

Sounds like olde time fun!

Are those the ones that Sylvester the cat used to fight on the cartoons? Tough Hombres weren't they?
