It has been suggested that we split this forum into multiple subforums, as follows:
  • Class 321A
  • Class 4A
  • Class 5A
  • Class 6A
  • General
We're interested in getting feedback from the users of this forum on whether to split the forum as shown above or to continue to maintain an all-encompassing forum. Cast your vote to indicate your preference:

It has been my experience that the more a message board is sub-sectioned off, the less traffic it receives over time, as a whole.

I agree. I prefer them all together. The Missouri site splits them and I believe it hurts. Many fans don't know which class the school is in and will have trouble finding info.

Keep the High School forum!

I suggested this based on the MO board. It is a quick way to find the things you are interested in and keep up with ongoing topics. It basically is just a way to better organize all of the info on this site. I would say for the casual fan visiting the site this idea would be helpful in assisting them in finding what they were looking for. This makes it more user friendly and would more than likley increase rather than decrease use.

All I can do is laugh regarding the argument fans not knowing what class their school is in.

Tiger Style,

On the Missouri site they have 4 different forums for HS as you know. When you are posting information regarding all wrestlers, many times they post on the biggest thread which is Class 4. If a match or tournament involves multiple class wrestlers and teams, they are sometimes duplicated on two or more forums. That is anything but laughable. On our site, we can title the thread with an explanation and you find it easily on the one high school forum. Splitting them up is not more user friendly.

Your probably right Chief. After monitoring this site for a couple weeks, I have found the traffic here is light in comaparison to the MO site. It was just a suggestion to clean up the clutter. I'm a new comer and appreciate the fact you guys at least considered.

FYI regarding the MO board, when a tournament involves multiple classes...the relevant info for each class is posted in the associated forum. Thus allowing one to find their item of interest quickly. There is a forum named "Off Topic HS Wrestling Related" which is used for the all class stuff.

i enjoy having all of the info together- if we split this up - next thing you know we will have to split all of the state tournaments!

Even if we hate one another for brief periods of time. We are Kansans and Jayhawks. We stay together!

I like them all together. If you can't find something, just use the internal search engine. Simple.

Not sure where the Jayhawk comes in to play, but you can count us CAT fans out of that group! smile

Did Rick Bowden or Gary Musselman suggest this?

As posted earlier on this thread:

"I suggested this based on the MO board."

It would surprise me greatly if either Mr. Bowden or Mr. Musselman ever visit this site.

I would hope they would have interest in following Kansas wrestling!

I have found the single forum to be plenty big enough to handle the amount of traffic it receives. Splitting the forum would, in my opinion, make it more cumbersome to surf the High School section. If a division is made I would actually think dividing the High School forum into two sections would be the most appropriate thing to do. One section titled, “High School” and the other section titled , “ Cokeley and Sportsfan02”.

Having interest in Kansas Wrestling does not necessarily translate into being a visitor/user of this board.

I agree, there seems to be an elevated sense of importance that frequent posters bestow on this forum. Just because some choose to spend an unordinary amount of time on a wrestling talk forum does not somehow elevate their opinion or expertise over others that choose not to participate .

I haven't seen a Jayhawk all day but I've seen plenty of Cats with smiles on their faces which might explain why.

I believe we have the best web site when compared to those of our border states - including missouri. Their site is boring, has little traffic, and is difficult to find anything. Maybe instead of coming to our state and making suggestions, they should move home. Leave it the way it is. Why would we want to copy missouri - by the way do they still have a football team???
