Were the losses at the same weight he entered at Rose Hill? Seems like some schools do not count losses that occur when the wrestler wrestles up in weight.

A loss is a loss during year no matter what weight you wrestle.

These were both at 145, his weight.

Who does Connor Middleton wrestle for. Nick has only been at 145 this season and his only loss was 3-2 to Shavlick at the Douglass tournament before losing to Davis at Rose Hill.

Wow. My mistake on that! I saw that Middleton had pinned Collins at the KMC duals and it wasn't Nick. My apologies. Did Nick wrestle him there?

NO big Deal, No Nick didnt wrestle Middleton, Olathe NW was in the other Pool? Nick Pinned someone with the last name Collins also from Wichita West at Kaupan. Augusta Didn't wrestle Olathe NW that day.

The records published at state are based on what your coach submitted at regionals which should include all wins and losses regardless of what weight it was at. It is customary to include forfeits, defaults, etc. as well. JV would not be included.

I agree everything should be counted. Here are some of the "angles" that I see used. 1. Kids drop a weight and only count matches from new lower weight. 2. Kids wrestle up and get beat and don't count those losses. 3. Kids default out for injury or illness and don't count losses.

Rarely do you see a kid/coach not count wins...only losses.

If a kid moves up a weight halfway through the season, those wins at the lower weight are many times not counted. I know they are contested at seeding meetings. You will see coaches enter them as 0-0.

I agree that they could be "contested" at a seeding meeting like a lot of things could be and those "extenuating circumstances" probably should be at least pointed out at a seeding meeting. But when it comes to the record submitted by the coach at regionals, it is supposed to be all varsity matches, end of discussion. That's the way I did it for twenty years as a head coach. That's the way I was raised, educated and instructed.

Yes, badbo and rarely do we see a kid default and count the loss. I admired Bo for taking that default loss last year with him to state. Obviously it didn't hurt him as we know what he did when he got there.
