Thanks for the kind words. Something that needs to be pointed out is this: We have quite a few kids that are "our own" that have worked really hard to get where they are. We also have some kids that have moved over to our club from other GOOD clubs. Whether it be a practice partner that the parent thought would help, or our system fit their kid better, or whatever. Fact remains that the foundation was laid for some of those kids, before they got to us. We can only hope that we make them better, and hope that they make the kids we have already better also. We'll never know if these kids would have done just as well, worse, or better had they stayed at their prior club. I just want to be clear that we do not overlook these facts.
Something else to think about is the coaching these boys get over the summer as well. Be it at Jeff Jordan Camp, Freestyle Greco with Coaches Edison, Schauer, Herman, etc. Middle school duals, School boy, Cadet, Junior duals coaches. It all adds up. As kids clubs, we need to continue to do what I have seen happening these last few years, and that is trying to make EVERYONE better. Participation in open room nights, participation in middle school duals, elementary school duals, FS Greco duals, etc. has made Kansas a better wrestling state.
Good luck to all this weekend at Brute and Iowa Nationals. And good luck to our middle school and elementary school national duals team the following weekend.
See ya this summer at a freestyle greco tourney!!
