Due to state being over, low numbers and kids just doing other things, I think its time to wrap it up and end them until this fall. We had something like 18 different kids show up at some point. The most we ever had at one time was 14. Kids from Garden City, Colby, Oakley, Hoxie, and Scott City made it.

Should be 7-10 kids attending Southern Plains from the group I helped.

Again, Tueday and Sunday freestyle practices are over in Colby.

I have heard that numbers in Emporia and Clay Center are down also. Topeka Seaman only had 5 kids on May 22. We have averaged around 12 per session but have had over 35 different kids during the sessions. I don't think discontinuing opportunities is the answer though. The biggest problem I see is most of our National Team coaches only attend one training center(St James). It looks like the Wichita RTC is drawing well also. I wish our National Team Coaches would spread out to cover some other areas. Also we need to be willing to travel as coaches and athletes. Decrease some of the RTC sites but spread them around. Seaman this week Emporia the next, Clay Center after that. Those are reasonable travel distances. Colby and FHSU sites could do the same. I haven't heard much from the Hays site as far as numbers. If you look @ the original RTC info, here are the coaches listed for each site:
Emporia: Dennis Charbonneau, Dusty Spaulding
Pittsburg:Scott Rieck, Nick Shumate, Joe Renfro
Wichita: Charlie Knox, Mike Church
Seaman: Pat Kelly
FHSU: Chas Thompson
Clay Center: Danny Grater
Pratt: Josh Carroll
Colby: Eric Luedke
St James: Tom Peterman, Eric Akin, Mike Medina, Travis Keal, Clint Slyter, Brandon Jobe, Richard Fergola, Cody Lambotte

So Plains Camp Staff:
Cody Lambotte
Brandon Jobe
Tyler Gonzales
Danny Grater
Chase Nelson
Andy Hurla
Cj Napier
David Langley
Volunteer Coaches: David Tawater, Pat Kelly, Tim Horgan

It's hard to organize this, no doubt. Just wish we could spread our National Team coaches around a little. Even if USAWKS paid mileage.
See you all in Hays!
