Still have 6 seats left on the bus looking to fill these with wrestlers and/or parents. We will be competing against the Harvey Twisters and some top notch teams from Il.

Coach good luck. I wish you would have done this last year. The Harvey County Twisters has produced, 3 World Class Wrestlers and is likely the best kids club in the country. Anyone who is a top notch kid, or wants to be should take advantage of this opportunity. I personally know that Coach Knox and his team take care of their wrestlers. Good luck and represent Kansas well.

Paola Wrestlig Club is sending Parker Madl, Ryne Cokeley, and CJ Stallbaumer on the bus. The boys are really looking forward to taking another road trip and finding some new opponents. Thanks to Coach Knox for setting this up!

Coach Knox, how did Chicago go? That was a tremendous opportunity you provided those young wrestlers and it is great for Kansas wrestling. I wish I had been able to send my son with you.

Overall it was great competition. If they had not left one of our guys off the brackets, it would have been perfect. We finish third in the team competition and we had six individual champions. The mistake they made involved one of the youths we took along with us. I found out about it after the first round we(the tournament people and me)tried to repair the situation and we did what we thought was best. Now that I look back on it I should have demanded them to redo the brackets. We also had one of our wrestlers named OW. Their tournaments are set up different from how we do it in Kansas. They do what they call block wrestling. Block wrestling discourage cutting weight. I liked block wrestling overall. They had over 600 wrestlers. We finish third as a team with 110 points. The first place team had 126 pts. First was worth 16 pts. Had they not left our wrestler off the brackets, who knows maybe we win the tournament. Thanks to the boys and their parents who went with us to Chicago you represented Kansas really well.

Coach, I got a email from Coach Harrell and he told me how impressed he was with all of the Kansas wrestlers. If you go back next year, let me know enough in advance, I'll make the trip with you to Sweet Home Chicago.
Regarding my earlier comment and the three world class wrestlers, what I should have said is many world class wrestlers including three who have represented the United States of America in International Competition. From Joe Williams to T.C. Dantzler plus many others. The Twisters do as much for inner city kids in the wrestling world as any club in the world. Then they also teach top notch, quality wrestling. If ever at a national tournament, take the time to watch them, their wrestlers, parents and coaches. I promise you will learn something and leave with a high measure of respect for this club.
