Now that the USMC Junior/16U Nationals have come to a close, let’s take a look at some of the final numbers. Today we’ll look at all of the double All-Americans from the tournament. For the boys, these wrestlers place top-eight in both freestyle and Greco-Roman in their age group. For the girls, these wrestlers placed top-eight in both 16U and Juniors.
Although not on this list, Christian Forbes of Oklahoma placed sixth in 16U freestyle at 100 lbs. and then fourth in Junior Greco-Roman.
Despite not ranking first in 16U, Junior, or Women, Illinois was the most well rounded team as it pertains to double All-Americans. They lead the race with 12. California and Iowa round out the top three with 11 and 9 double All-Americans.
All in all, there were 66 wrestlers to double up in 16U, 39 in Junior, and 23 in Women. Including Forbes who doubled up across age divisions, that is a total of 128 double All-Americans.
