I want to take this opportunity to thank everyone within USAW-Kansas Kids for the award I received this past weekend.
Like most of you, I am not involved in Kids Wrestling for any recognition. I got involved in USAW-Kansas Kids because I had this plan to make wrestling an enjoyable sport for my stepson and to start a wrestling club in my small community and give them that same opportunity. Several years later, I hope I have done that.
I have always, through my profession and through my hobbies, tried to make a positive difference in the life of kids. More recently, I have been given the opportunity to work alongside the State coaches, and shared with them my philosophy. I hope I have made a positive difference for both the kids and their coaches.
I don’t know if I am worthy of the award I received, but if I am, all of the credit needs to go to a lot of people along the way. My deepest and sincere appreciation goes out to all of you. If I have made a positive difference its’ because you’ve allowed me to!
