What happened to Bunch? Anyone know? Last year he was wrestling and doing well at Edinboro. I just checked their website and he is no longer on their team.

Shawn is one of many wrestlers Nation wide that are taking an Olympic Redshirt...He competed at Missouri Open (I think that's the right tournament) and blacked out during a match with Johnny Thompson of OSU...that's the last I heard about him competition wise.

Who all misses those Bunch vs. Bradley brawls? I know I would love to see another match up. I beleive I saw them wrestle eachother 4 or 5 times.

The kids state championship in 2000 was one of the most exciting matches I have ever witnessed.
Bradley won.

I watched Bradley wrestle at Labette this year, but he is hurt now. I can't wait to see what he can do when he is healthy and focused!!!

Teyon? as in Teyon Ware? I'd have to go with Muhammed Lawal as being one of the fastest I've seen/wrestled.

Yes i was at the 2000 kids state also and witnessed the championship match between bradley and bunch which bunch won. I also saw the 2000 silver lake invitational championship match and that had to be the best match up of the two ever. The fans were crazy, and both were doing anything to win including bitting and cheap shots to the groin area.

Teyon lost last night 3-2 to Iowa State Kid. By what I was told It was 3-2 with 30 seconds and the kid just kept countering Teyon's attack.

Dear rocknraider:

While your keen observation regarding Teyon is accurate, Teyon is not alone on the O. U. team in stalling.

It appears to be a Spates (O.U. head coach) taught technique! The famed Oklahoma back step soon becomes a Sooner dance.

Yes u r true, but many Sooner wrestlers i have seen are goers and are very active in matches. Some would be former 125lber Matt Ridings, former 133lber Witt Durden, O'Sung Kim(165lbs), and Justin Dyer(184lbs).

Dear rocknraider:

At the O.S.U. - O.U. dual earlier this year in Stillwater, Dyer got caught up in the Sooner stall tactics in his match with Rosholt.

Not to take anything away from Mr. Dyer, as he is obviously an outstanding athlete.

On the current Sooner team, the 125 lb. wreslter Hazewinkle, is the only consistent wrestler in the Sooner lineup to constantly push the action. The 133 lb. wrestler, Mimi Miller, follows close behind. Miller learned most of his technique at the numerous John Smith Summer Wrestling Camps he attended.

Have u seen Hazewinkle wrestle in person or something. Is he fairly big for his weight or undersized. I heard he was a greco phenom and figured he was probably pretty strong for a 125lbr.

And can u blame Dyer for pulling the stalling out of his bum? he was wrestling a Rosholt!! I would probably stall too w/ competition like that.

Dear rocknraider:

Yes, I have seen Hazewinkle wrestle several times. Sam is originally from Edmond, Oklahoma and his family moved to Florida between Junior and Senior High School. Hazewinkle is an accomplished freestyle wrestler, and is all about offense.

I have three (3) season tickets to the O.S.U. home duals, and am quite familiar with Rosholt.

He has a younger brother wrestling at Ponca City who may develop into a better wrestler than Jake.

Back to Shawn Bunch: There have been several tournaments recently for those attempting to become Olympic qualifiers, and I have not seen Bunch's name as entered in any of these tournaments. However, I also have not read or heard much about Eric Akin lately either.
