My son has just become interested in wrestling, and I decided to browse the web this morning to find some summer camp information. I was so excited to find this forum. I thought, "This is great! What a wonderful forum for kids in Kansas new to the sport of wrestling to learn from coaches and other wrestlers."

I proceeded to click on the summer camp topic to find camp info. I did and I appreciate the coaches putting it out there, but to my dismay, I also found very unkind comments written among several members.

My first thought was that these members were just isolated to this topic, so I browsed a little more. Unfortunately, the members seem to have nothing nice to say in a lot of the topic areas. I was disappointed to say the least. I was glad to read comments from other forum members trying to get these guys to take their bantering elsewhere.

I'm not a sports mom who thinks she's the one playing -- I let my kids play and I watch. It's great for all of us. They do the best they can, and I'm proud of them no matter what the result. My job is to make sure that they know how to be respectful to all individuals, no matter what the circumstances.

When I found the forum, I was just looking for info. I had no intention of registering. A voice inside said register and let these guys know that although they are probably good people, they don't appear to be representing the sport of wrestling in Kansas in a good way. Please, so the Kansas wrestling community can use this forum in the way in appears to have been intended, contribute comments that are useful and leave the unkind, useless bantering out.

My words are probably too many, but the message is short: Treat others as you would like to be treated yourself.

Show the rest of the world that the state of Kansas can be proud of its wrestling community.

This forum provides an informational service as well as a place people can post just about anything they want to. It's not for everyone and if it is viewed with the intention of ONLY getting information, then I can see where you have gotten the impression you have. The "bantering" that goes on is all in fun and is not intended to harm or hurt anyone in any way. Please continue to visit and gain information and participate in the forum. This forum IS proud of Kansas wrestling.

I don't know everybody on this forum personally, but I feel confident enough in everybody to assure you that there are no bad or mean people on here. Every mean comment you may read, it is just a joke. And member that's on here consistently is usually in on the joking. I'm sorry if you were offended by something I said, or for all that matters what anybody has said, but it was just joking around. It's the offseason right now, and we're just trying to keep the forum alive in the dead times of wrestling. Just know that just about all of us are kind hearted, and we don't mean any of what we say. It's all fun and games.

I'm sure you're referring to me, because most do when it comes to bad things. Let me just say that I have a little brother who is amost six and it's kids like that that make wrestling fun. Little kids are awesome, and I can guarantee you that the involvement that I have with kids and wrestling is fun and informational. I plan on working with kids in wrestling in the future and when I have kids they will all wrestle. You came in at a time when there were about two hundred posts a day, mostly between people who knew eachother, on random topics. I want you to get the information that you need for your son, but if there is something offensive just pass over it, because it doesn't concern you.

The things people say shouldn't bring everyone down. This is almost like your mama jokes. Most people don't really care about the stuff said on here because they are adult enough and have thick skin.

I will say though that I do know this site has been monitored and has been close to shutting down. Even I who get caught up in some of the smut of the site find some things way uncalled for. This site is operated by $$$ funded by certain people. But if one or 2 people are offended then maybe we need a topic signal that would indicate a topic might be offensive to some.
