Lyons has 5 opens in duals but makes the dual respectable on their side or still beats the tar out of an opponent! I'm picking Lyons as the my darkhorse team in the 3-2-1a State!

Yes, Lyons is a very strong team throughout, and they definitely made our boys work for the league dual championship, but the Hillsboro boys did it. They held off Lyons and defeated them twice. Granted the first time, they held most of the wrestlers out, for competition point reasons, but our boys still beat them when they wrestled the full squad.

Congratulations to Hillsboro High School Wrestling team on a school first. These boys have fought hard all year long and just completed an undefeated dual season. Way to go, guys!

I would like to thank Lucky Kid and Oldies 94.7 for broadcasting cut-in highlights of the duals last evening. Mike Cox (Rice Co. Youth Coach) and I sat in as technical advisors.

A couple of notes on the matches:
Bina and Kroetsch was a heck of a match. Great fluries at the end. I was impressed by the Ludwig and Cress match. Garrett kept it close. I was impressed by the Mueller kid from Hillsboro. He gave Kastings a good run. Congrats to Coach O'Hare as he had his kids fired up and ready to wrestle. I would have liked to see Kepka wrestle, but he was out with a muscle strain. I think he could have made a difference.
