Neither is provable. Therefore, both require faith. This pill is hard for the evolutionist to follow. But, as stated previously, it is all in how you define your terms. If evolution means that things change over time - sure, i'm an evolutionist then. However, if evolution means that one species CHANGES into another species - than i am not an evolutionist. Darwin himself said his THEORY was weak until the transitory fossils were found. But, he said they would be found. In fact, there would be so many of them, that we would be tripping over them as we walk out our front door. WHOOPS! Almost two hundred years later, we still haven't found them yet . . .
Origins often gets mixed up with evolution. Origins -- how did things get here in the first place? Again, neither side is provable. Faith is needed for which ever view one takes. It seems to be an ENORMOUS leap in faith to think that all the complexity in life (look at just one strand of DNA for example) simply appeared out of no where and then given billions and billions of years - it got more and more complex. As Chief noted, quite a fairy tale. Even more so than a simple belief that a Sovereign Creator created all. Most of the world's greatest scientists have believed in a Sovereign Creator (ie, Newton, Einstein, Max Planck, etc) due the the complexity and beauty of the universe.
Fairy tales. Myths. Religions. Man has and will always have them for the mysteries of life. Why? We don't like grey. We need/like every thing black and white.
"Brother on the corner, he's got it all figured out. Little room for mystery. Little room for doubt. . . Lord have mercy on our arrogant souls." (Wayne Watson)
