I originally replied to Scarecrow_103 on his post in the college forum but I believe this reply is more appropriate on the high school forum.
Congrats to Jed and his Family!!! Also congrats to Coach Parks. Losing this many quality seniors will be hard to reload.
I know you are being complimentary to that incredible senior class that Aquinas had last year. It was a great group that achieved much during its four years including two state team championships and an undefeated team season last year.
The cupboard at Aquinas next year is not bare however. Carroll is the hands down favorite in 5A next year but it would not be wise to count Aquinas out next year. There is more coming back then you might think. Last year state qualifiers/placers Jimmy Bryant, Joe Rausch, Connor McCarty, Jake Walker, Phillip Henes, Jacob Nowak all return. EJ Walter a state qualifier at 189 two years ago did not wrestle the high school season last year but won Kids State at 215 and he should return at 215 for his senior year. EJ is a definite possibility for a high place at 215 next year. There are also several juniors from last year who have spent their careers up to this point on JV behind some of those great seniors from last year and these juniors are potential state qualifiers/placers next year in their senior year. I also believe a couple of incoming freshmen could really help out at State next year.
Scarecrow_103, Aquinas did lose a lot of great senior wrestlers. Their achievements would be very difficult to duplicate. I think though that next year's team might be better than some people would expect considering all the great seniors that will be gone.
