Judi Harrington passed on last night a little after 1:00 AM. Skip was with her during this time. As plans are finalized they will be announced. Please keep the family in your prayers.

Personally, I know Judi and the family were grateful for all of the visitors and messages, especially within the wrestling community. They came in from all over, and those wrestlers especially who came to see the family, I can’t tell you how much they spoke about that. For anyone wanting to assist with food or any of those types of things, Steve and Cindy Shavlik in Derby will be the host home.

For those wanting to contribute to the substantial costs and medical expense you may do so at the following:

Are you making a POSITIVE difference in the life of kids?

Judi Harrington played a major role in Kansas Wrestling. She spent many hours volunteering her time and talents. God only knows the number of kids for whom she made a special difference in their lives. I am sure this is a number far greater than any of us could ever imagine. I feel very blessed and honored to have met Judi. I will remember her most for her straight-forwardness and honesty. Judi will be missed within the wrestling community yet I am sure never forgotten.

Our prayers go out to Skip and the family during this very tough time. I pray that their hearts will be uplifted as they realize Judi is in a much better place. I pray that a restful peace come over the family as they remember the wonderful things that she accomplished, and the many lives that she touched.

After being Coached by Skip and always being able to hear Judy cheer you on as a wresler on the mat, it is a huge loss to the wrestling community. It never mattered if you were losing by a couple of points, on your back, or getting ready to go up against a National Champion, she never gave up on you. She was always there if you needed help to run a tournament, or some advice on what to do to run the tournament. Some of us aren't going to know what to do with the helpers for our next tournament without Judy running the room. When I first started wrestling I was driven from Wichita to Derby to wrestle for Tom Faust and Skip Harrington, there is a huge respect for these individuals in this town after adding to the Champions and Championships brought to the community. There are many families very sadened by the loss to the Harrington family, and all of the family is in our prayers.
