Just to head off any confussion. BRACKETS MAY CHANGE. NO KIDS ADDED TO BRACKETS - JUST DELETED. The match numbers can not be assigned to brackets until after weigh ins. NO KID CAN BYE TO FINALS. Unless a 2 man round robin. Some of the reasons a bracket may change. No shows, did not make weight, injured, sick, etc. The no shows seem to happen the most in High School weights, as well as not making weight. Just an FYI it is possible your kids bracket may change.

Nice catch Smokey ... Parents should be prepared that changes do happen!

Rules question.

For "Subs" (or any other State qualifying tourney, etc.), what is the rule or guideline for brackets that have four (4) or fewer wrestlers. Specifically, do they all automatically qualify for their district regardless of their placing? Do they even have to weigh in? I've seen several brackets that fit this scenario and was curious?

Failure to make weight at the announced weigh-in times will result in disqualification. If a wrestler makes weight but does not appear for his/her match, that match will be considered a loss. If those losses do not elminate the wrestler from the tournament, s/he can advance.

I would like to add one more reason for change to Smokey's list. If an error was made by myself or the other tournament directors when we were making the entrees Sunday night we would be obligatd to fix it. I have not received any calls as yet...so I must have been perfect this time. Please review the brackets, if you see a discrepancy in D1N call me and I will check my "Master List" from the seeding meeting. I read all of the seeds back to the group after they were awarded. My "Master List" would over-rule anybodys memory of the meeting. But I am human and could have made a data entree error when transfering the seeds into trackwrestling. Thanks.

I don't know how other subdistricts did it, but Valley Center projected the entries for each "seedable" bracket (with more than 4 wrestlers in it) onto the wall. Everyone in the room could see the names and we went down the list of ages and weights, seeding them. It went very smoothly, with very few disagreements. With the whole room looking at the same info, there was very little, if any, bickering over seeds. It went fast and I believe that the kids received what they had coming to them as far as seeding goes. Used to be a group of coaches crowded around a table for each age group and went thru the entries and seeded them. If you, as a coach, were not able to see what went on at the 10u seeding, while you were helping with the 16u seeding, you could, and sometimes would, get hosed. This eliminated that altogether. Steven Foster I believe came up with this idea.
